» Customer Experiences:
Marc was great. He helped us navigate through the purchase of our home and was always happy to help. We appreciated his kindness and knowledge through the process. We also appreciated his timely responses to our phone calls/emails and his willingness to explain things to us.
Marc is professional, resourceful and easy to work with. He patiently listened to our needs and no matter how complicated our concerns and questions were, he was able to guide and provide us with the best options in the market allowing us to make informed decisions that catered to our needs. He helped us secure an offer and finalize it whilst keeping us well-informed every step of the way. We can’t recommend Marc enough!
This was a private sale between myself and a family member. I never told Marc that there was a gift of equity - he assumed…. This complicated things. He then went to make changes such as changing the purchase price which I had already wrote up a purchase agreement at the lawyer that would have had to be amended. Etc. just a headache all stemming from an assumption. It was an option I didn’t know existed, so I wanted to explore that. While I appreciate knowing this was an option, the way it came about was due to someone assuming and not listening. The snowball started to form.. When it came to the commitment letter, I received it in the morning, and it wasn’t communicated until later that day that it needed to be signed the SAME DAY. When I asked for it to be sent electronically around 4pm, he sent it to me at 11:00pm. Not much good to a sleeping person. He also told me I had to have my auto generated letter of employment signed. I have had 2 mortgages in the past, and never had heard of this. It took days to get that resolved so my application just sat there. Turned out, it didn’t require a signature - still not sure where that idea came from. I asked for a 30 year amortization and got 25 years on the commitment letter. Also, there was the wrong postal code on the letter (might be the lenders fault) - that is what I was told. Marc never communicated that the amortization was different from what we had discussed. Naturally, the payment options presented were higher than what we had talked about. Again, I had to bring it up, he didn’t not open that discussion. Not great attention to detail in my opinion and lots of me having to dig for answers. With all of this, I ended up calling the lender myself as I just wanted to seek a bit more information. Shortly after, I got a phone call from Marc. He was VERY upset. This is MY mortgage at the end of the day. If a client asking someone else a question about THEIR OWN application upsets someone that much, it’s a big red flag. Was one of many. He proceed to ask me “do you wanna go ahead and do the job?” Unprofessional to say the least. He told me I “created problems” by speaking to the lender. I felt very attacked. To sum it up, the experience was unpleasant towards the end. I should have terminated the working relationship before I did, as there were quite a few flags from the start. That is coming from someone who has been through this process numerous times before with no issues. I would say Marc Crossman lives up to his last name. I would not recommend.
