» Customer Experiences:
We used AMJ to move and the experience was incredible. Used an easy app to scan the stuff being moved in each room and got a quick quote. The crew was great and very professional. It was well worth the spend for a flawless move. I highly recommend using them.
This is a review for a long-distance move. I don't have experience with short-distance moves. We recently completed a move with AMJ Campbell. The sales person was Darrin Drake and our point of contact (well, we thought it was our point of contact) was Jenna. The packing went pretty well - at least we thought that given their speed and professionalism). We were happy that the packers were flexible. As usual with moving, you only really know how well the job was done when you unpack on the other side. After the walkthrough, we were quoted a price and the price ended up being exactly the quote. Funny thing here is that we sold a bunch of stuff and ended up bringing way less than quoted but the price didn't change. So we would have had a very bad surprise otherwise ... It was still quite sad given we thought we would save a whole vault (their container type) by selling a 5 seat sectional, a 75" TV, 2 cube shelves and a table. So either they would have needed a 5th vault or they just pack loosely to still get the same money. We will never know. We ended up trying not to be upset and stay excited for the move. Our shipping method was quite lengthy and Darrin consistently emphasized that their value proposition really is that we were dealing with the same company: start to finish. One point of contact and all AMJ Campbell. When the truck came, movers were late (45 minutes...) and they ended up unloading quickly. Sometimes too quickly. The guys also seemed to have zero interest in reading the labels (mind you, that was again a sales pitch point of the "full pack" - that everything would be well labeled and it would save us time and hassle). They didn't reassemble some items, many items didn't have numbers, some boxes contained a wild mix of stuff and mainly, most boxes ended up on the wrong floors. In addition, we discovered that our computer parts and monitors were poorly packed and damaged. My jewelry was all messed up. Some furniture pieces had suffered and when the movers were done, they wanted me to sign a blank document and he'd fill in the content later (red flag!). They also wanted to have my credit card information again (I had already received random emails from people who weren't AMJ Campbell confirming the payment will be made) and now the ground crew wanted my credit card information again (red flag!). They did help us carry something so we tipped them each $20 for the additional help. Now I've reached out to Darrin and Jenna (my ONE point of contact) to file a complaint about the damaged items and as it turns out, I was moving with Atlas Van lines and AMJ Campbell (the one contact, one company start to finish) has nothing to do with the damages or claims or the move? Super disappointed right now that the whole sales pitch was basically a lie. Would not recommend moving with them across country. Photos of some items below. We had chipped monitors, my $800 purse was packed with a bunch of washroom items and is completely deformed, furniture was broken, we basically transported trash in terms of how they packaged this wrapping paper and there was Lego everywhere...
We had a great experience start to finish. Darrin who came to do the estimate was so fun and friendly. It was great to work with someone who is passionate about what they do. AMJ hooked us up with a cleaner, which was another thing to check off the list. Our moving day was a breeze and as stress free as possible. I would call on them again.
