I had scheduled my initial appointment for a cleaning and exam for 8/28/25. Everything went along smoothly until I received a call from Dr. Damian that evening. She claimed that she couldn't handle my case since it was too difficult. During my tenure in a University based dental school I had undergone a full mouth overhaul and have been to several dentists since then (primarily due to my moving to different cities) and have never been told that my case was too difficult. Up until now and since my retirement in 2012, I have received great dental care and have always been told that my at-home dental care was outstanding. The cleaning was great and the other staff members were professional.

Do not go here if you have kids or are looking for patient and kind providers. Our family initially LOVED this practice and our dentist. She came highly recommend from people in our community with disabled children as well as from the children’s hospital. I want to preface this with I fully understand not everyone is equipped to work with children, or children that have needs. However they had no problem with our son when we were spending thousands on cosmetics but when all that was left was regular cleanings and some fillings suddenly it’s an issue. Our son is autistic and needs breaks during procedures or to have the appointments spaced out. like having one filling at a time etc. We were explicit with his needs and were told this was no problem at all and the accommodations were very reasonable. My husband and I also are seen here and have spent close to 10k out of pocket over the year. This week my son was seen for a filling, they were 20 minutes late getting him in and he did need a break after numbing however they still completed the filling within the scheduled time (so ahead of schedule as they were late). The dentist told my husband and son this was fine and scheduled his next apt and told them both our kiddo did great and is getting better at being less nervous etc. The next day another dentist in the office we have never met called me at work to tell me they think we’d be better off somewhere else. I was shocked, she went on to say how difficult our son is and how badly he’s doing and they can’t possibly accommodate for him because they could get so much more done in the time they’re waiting for him and he’d be better off somewhere else etc. I explained since this isn’t the dentist that sees him that he’s been doing much better (faster apts) and how difficult it can be for autistic children and how needing a break or to space out appointments is not remotely unreasonable accommodation wise (we pay for the appointments it’s my wallet that’s hit for extra appointments). But she was adamant that he’d do better elsewhere and even said we should try therapy! He’s in several OT programs and others to support him sitting for longer periods of time with his mouth open. Our son sits still, does as instructed, he followed all the dentists instructions. He does like to know what is happening and asks questions, which we explained previously that it helps him be less anxious. His dentist told him to raise his hand if he needed to spit or sit up for a minute and he did that. I am disgusted and appalled at the treatment here. After speaking with a child advocate I decided to leave this review to warn other families. And will be filing a formal complaint with the ADA. They had no problem with our son when we were spending thousands on cosmetics but when all that was left was regular cleanings and some fillings suddenly it’s an issue.

I had a wonderful experience at Red Rocks Family Dentistry! Kim Thornton was gentle, profoundly knowledgeable and thorough. I am relieved to have found a dental technician whose skills warrant my confidence. I also appreciated the consultation from the attending dentist!

I particularly appreciated it when the individual taking X-rays used a different procedure when I was in SO much pain! Such a kind and helpful staff and doctor! I didn't choose a Four star, because the prescription needed was not called in to my pharmacy until Red Rocks was closed. VERY difficult for my family member (not in the Littleton area) who had to return the next day, instead of driving to the pharmacy when my appointment was finished.

Aurora Dentist Office and Orthodontics is a dentist.
