I chose Complete Car Detailing due to the 5 star reviews My confidence grew when I met Louis and Chris, lovely blokes to chat to and friendly. I could tell detailing for them was a passion, not a job! I was initially booked in for a cut and polish to remove fine swirl marks that came with the new car from the dealership After chatting to Louis and Chris I decided to get the car ceramic coated Upon picking up the car the next day, overall, it looked phenomenal ! It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed a scratch on the roof that I had not seen before, underneath the ceramic coating (its super slick on top of the scratch). The only scratch I was aware of was one on the left front black gloss grill (I’m a neat freak and of a fastidious personality type so I feel I would have seen the scratch prior given I have been constantly eyeing my car on close inspection on a daily basis like any car fanatic with a new car) Obviously my heart sank when I saw the scratch I called up Louis to let him know and he explained that the scratch was likely from the dealership and he let me know he also found another one in left front black gloss grill (the one I was already aware of prior) He explained that the clear coat is thin, so I presume he meant to leave it alone. He comforted me by explaining that even expensive Porches have these types of scratches. I left it at that and gave him the benefit of the doubt even though I was sure the scratch was not there prior to dropping off the car. Over the course of the week I tried to forget about the scratch but I kept on seeing it and it made me sad as the car was only 2 weeks old. I drove the car back down to Complete Car Detailing and met a lovely young chap who said Louis was on 3 weeks leave. I saw Chris and explained the situation. He reassured that their process could not have caused the damage. We did agree that the scratch was underneath the ceramic coating. Chris explained that sometimes they miss seeing scratches even under bright light. They recommended I go to Nash panels to get an opinion on what could be done to remove the scratch and to call the dealership to see if they could resolve. Nash panels (Kayde) said that they could probably buff out the scratch and get it 90% better but it would still be visible under close inspection. I didn’t ask for a quote to buff the scratch. To get it perfect the whole roof would need to be resprayed which having called several places after was around $1,500. I called Chris to let him know my findings and I asked if I decided to get Nash panels to buff out the scratch how much would it cost to reapply the coating and that was $250. As of now I am not sure what to do. I may leave it as is or sell the car and wait for Sept/Oct when the next Golf Rs are due to arrive. I’d recommend the following moving forward for any customer / detailer relationship 1) Customer and Detailer to inspect the car prior to customer leaving the detailer. List the current defects in a condition report and both sign and agree. This approach wont be 100% fool proof but may go a long way to keeping the customer and detailer on the same page. 2) Install lights that will better identity scratches in black cars so the scratch can be addressed prior to ceramic coating. At this stage I am hesitant to recommend Complete Car Detailing and I’d be hesitant to leave my car there. My situation may have been a 1 in 100 occurrence so I will leave it to other customers to decide. Next week I am getting an assessment from another detailer who will do a paint thickness gauge reading over the scratch to see how much clear coat remains. If anything further comes to light I will update the review. I wish Louis, Chris and the team all the best and I hope they can put some improvements in place moving forward.
Absolutely amazing service as always! We’ve been coming here for a while now for regular detailing, and they never disappoint. They recently did a full ceramic coating on our car and we couldn’t be happier — it looks incredible! The attention to detail and quality of their work is unmatched. Every time, they go above and beyond. And I have to mention their adorable dog — the sweetest little assistant! He always keeps me company while I wait, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s like getting top-tier car care and puppy therapy all in one. Highly recommend to anyone who wants their car looking its absolute best!
I have just had my brand new car (Polestar4) ceramic coated by the team at Complete Car Detailing and Louis and his team did an amazing job. I couldn’t recommend their services highly enough. Great job guys, thank you.
