I’m really thankful for all the support I received from everyone at EEC. Each staff member helped me in different ways — from guiding me through finding a job to helping me get into college. They also taught me how to create a professional resume and gave me the confidence to use my skills. One of the best parts was taking part in the IM&M+ (In Motion & Momentum+) workshop. It helped me discover my strengths, realize the knowledge I already had, and become a better, more confident person. I truly appreciate everything the EEC team has done for me and would highly recommend their programs to anyone looking for help with career, education, or personal growth.
I am new to Canada and also new to the Brockville area. The labour market in my home country works very different. That was the reason why I decided to make an appointment at the Employment Centre here. The coaches and everyone else from the staff were helping me a lot with my resume, my portfolio and of course, also with my interview. They did a great job every day. Furthermore, I was very happy how they encouraged us. I felt very prepared for the Canadian labour market after all the workshops and all the conversations with them. Thank you guys so much, I really appreciate how you helped me during that time.
As a small non-profit affordable housing provider for people with intellectual disabilities we were looking for an occassional handyperson to do light maintenance and repairs on seven properties within the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. I reached out to Nyssa Killam, a job developer at EEC and described our circumstance and the nature of the work we required. After an interview Nyssa went to work and was able to set up interviews with two prospects. Both were ideal; exactly what we were looking for making it a very hard decision. The person we contracted has been ideal - they have the time and skills necessary and just as importantly, the empathy and understanding to work with a very vulnerable group of tenants. It's been a year now and we are extremely pleased. EEC offers a great placement service and would not hesitate to recommend it to other employers. - John Barclay, Executive Director, Community Involvement Legacy Homes.
