Harvest Moon Café

Stop here for a late breakfast. Every homey nicely decorated restaurant. The waitress promptly sat me down in a booth. I chose a mediterranean skillet and hot chocolate. The skillet has hash browns, gyro, feta cheese, onions, tomatoes topped with 2 eggs and toast. I chose sunny side up eggs. Everything was delicious. They also have omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and more. Definitely worth going here.

This was a disaster! I came here today for the first time. I met a friend. He ordered a sandwich, I ordered breakfast. Basic stuff. 54 minutes into our wait, we asked our server to check on our food. She said another table had asked her to check too, so she’d ask. At this point a table started to walk out until their server brought out the food. The wait was pretty universal and wildly unacceptable for this type of food. When the food arrived about 57 minutes in, my toast was untoasted with cold butter spread across it. My eggs that were ordered “over medium” came out a runny “sunny-side-up” consistency, the remainder of food looked so bad, I didn’t eat it. I was very hungry and it still was unappetizing. The server said the “cook is trying his best”. People are paying for this food, the owner or manager should make sure they’re hiring trained people or training the people they hire. This was unpleasant. By the time we cashed out, my entire mouth was numb. I’m not allergic to eggs, butter or toast, so I’m not sure what kind of cross contamination is happening in that kitchen, but I’m not allergic to anything I saw on that menu. I will absolutely never go back to this place. I over tipped the server because her tables weren’t getting turned over at any decent rate, but full disclosure, she should have been asking the kitchen when our food was ready before us prompting her.

Solid place for good-tasting, comfort food. All 4 meals ordered (Fish and chips, hamburger, pot pie, and wrap) were enjoyed and were generous portions. Restaurant was not very busy when we were there and service staff showed the right amount of attentiveness without being obtrusive. Happy to return here on a future trip.
