Hôtel Le Montagnais Saguenay

Good spot if your travelling through. Located in vicinity of a few restaurant options. Otherwise there is nothing around, typical suburban wasteland. The food at the hotel was decent, service ok. Nice restaurant. Pretty decent gym for a hotel and a nice swimming pool. We really enjoyed the arcade games spot.

The hotel has a very university/college-dormitory like feel. The popcorn textured walls in the rooms and hallways felt very dreary. The in-room lighting is terrible (recommend better lamp shades). The service was just OK and nothing to rave about. Housekeeping had left our room door open which we discovered upon returning at night. The door didn't latch and was basically open for anyone to walk in and grab whatever they wanted. No service recovery offered on this mishap nor an apology and just that 'we'll make a note of it to housekeeping.' The water park is decent if you're with kids. A very bland experience overall.

Room was very clean and large, we were so surprised at check in that we had received an upgrade to a larger room at no extra cost. My family enjoyed the water park immensely. Reception was warm and friendly.
