Really wonderful Indian food in a casual setting! Had been meaning to try their food and finally made it out on a weekday around opening. We were initially skeptical of the portion sizes, but found our bowls quite filling for lunch. 2 of us had the Biryani and 1 had the Mac & Cheese. Love that you can customize your meal with the protein and sauce. I had the smoked pulled pork and coconut (vegan) sauce. The meat was tender and the sauce had a nice depth of flavour. It came with a good amount to coat the rice and protein, and the same could be said for the other bowls. Well-spiced and full of flavour. I bought a recommended bottled vegan beverage (Plant Veda Cashew Drink) and loved it, although the price tag was steep at $5.75. It was a refreshing compliment to the food, but I might skip it next time around. Service was friendly and there was a bit of a wait for our 3 bowls (around 10 minutes, based on my recollection), but that's when you know it's being made fresh! Will definitely be back.
I can’t believe I never noticed this place! A humble but vibrantly coloured modern Indian eatery on Broadway. I finally got takeout when I was craving biryani. I’ve only had homemade biryani and this definitely met the bar for flavour and freshness. Friendly service, carefully packed (survived a long commute), and the food was freshly made. I had the biryani with butter chicken ($15.99) and it was perfect with the pickled ginger provided. Not too spicy (good for general palette) but flavourful, chicken was moist. It was colourful and clean inside; their dessert display looked empty by the end of Sunday (probably means they make everything fresh)! Will definitely be back.
Fun concept of fast-casual Indian-fusion food! The art on the walls is sweet and reflects the menu theme. The menu is highly customizable right down to your spice level preference. There's an abundance of vegetarian options and a few GF and vegan choices. Although it's fusion food, I feel that the food carries the authentic flavours of Indian cooking. The sauces/gravies are amazing, I especially like the unique cilantro cream sauce. Samosas are fresh, crispy, and non-greasy. Do not skip desserts and drinks! The two desserts are very unique and tasty, although they are very sweet. They make a good chai (the hot ones are authentic Indian-style, the iced chai latte is more similar to the Western version of chai latte, but very potent) and a very smooth mango lassi too. Prices across the board are very fair. All of the entree items are $10-$17. Huge shout out to the owner who is so nice and genuinely passionate about sharing the food with customers.
