And then there’s the candy: an irresistible lineup of sweet nostalgia and fun treats that practically demands a bag or two on your way out. My only quibble? The prices. While I don’t mind paying a bit more to support a local institution, sometimes the sticker shock is enough to make me put an item back and sigh wistfully. Still, Kean’s remains a delightful destination whenever I’m in town. You just can’t beat its charm, personality, and ability to make you feel like a kid again — even if your wallet feels a little more grown-up afterward. – 4/5, and worth the visit.
When my kids and I moved to the area in 2011, we’d been through a lot. Weekend drives became a way to heal and connect with each other. These drives often included a stop at Kean’s. The vibe is always welcoming, and the staff is great. Old-time candy, products by local artists, toys, polished rocks you could buy after stuffing them into little cloth bags - everything felt fun yet comforting. One time, my daughter and I got so engrossed in a game of checkers that we didn’t notice the place had emptied out. A staff member gently informed us that the store had closed 10 minutes ago. I think she gave us extra time before kindly showing us out. My kids are adults now, and those visits are among their happiest memories - and we still visit Kean’s together. Strange to think that a store could help some random exhausted single mom bring joy to two kids who really deserved it.
The whole family loves going to Keans; they have stuff for all ages! It is family owned, and all of the workers are very friendly and helpful. You can always find stuff at Keans! They have sweets, fabric, games, toys, jewelry, crafts, and gifts! We are always at Keans and would recommend it to all our friends and family!
