It’s a fantastic bakery, the bread and food is phenomenal. If you don’t speak French well yet and are learning, this is not the bakery for you to visit. One worker (a younger girl) was so rude to me unfortunately when I ordered in broken French. It’s so sad but don’t let it ruin your day.
My French is rusty, so to be expedient I asked the cashier if she spoke English. She gave me a cartoonishly disgusted face and said “No” then turned to her colleague (not knowing I speak a bit of French and am again just a little rusty) and said “I live in France why would I speak English” and turns back to me like she hardly had the time. Thereby cementing herself as a classically rude French stereotype, which is of course a false stereotype (but not in this case). I live in the US and speak a bit of 3 languages (not including English), get over yourself.
The comptoir lady was very nice & helpful. This was the 2nd time that stopped by so we chatted a little bit. The pain du jour was excellent and was on .65 Euro! Incredible! Nice place!😊👍🏻
