I’m really thankful for this clinic for taking in our dog so quickly and taking good care of him. They kept us updated throughout his stay, and every time we called, the receptionist was patient and kind. The main feedback I want to share is about our interaction with Dr. Dhaliwal. The way certain things were communicated felt very alarming in an already emotional moment. He asked us how we thought our dog was doing, and when we said he seemed a bit better, he immediately responded, “I don’t think so,” then moved straight to showing us concerning lab results. The way the question was posed, followed by such a blunt response, really caught us off guard. I completely understand that this is their work, and they see complex cases every day. But for families who come in, their pet is more than just a patient, and how information is delivered makes a big difference in how they process it during such a stressful time. We also discussed the possibility of taking our dog to a hospital with a higher level of care, which we agreed was the right next step. Dr. Dhaliwal said he would call the doctor at the other hospital to review the case. When he returned, he told us that the other doctor didn’t think it was looking too good either. Hearing that so directly, especially right before we had to drive there ourselves, was extremely overwhelming. Again, we understand the seriousness and unpredictability of these situations, but a gentler delivery would have helped rather than making us panic. Aside from that, Kiwi the cat was adorable, and we appreciated the follow-up call to ask how our dog was doing after he was transferred.

I brought my cat Coco in under unfortunate circumstances. Coco didn’t make it, but I believe in my heart that the team at Mainland did everything they could for him. Dr. Arsh took so much time in person and on the phone to explain everything as it happened. While I didn’t like the news I was getting I was grateful to be informed and kept so well in the loop. He and his vet techs were so incredibly kind and compassionate in one of the most difficult experiences of my life. I wasn’t able to make it to the clinic in time to be with coco when he left this earth but I know he felt the love and care from the mainland team and for that I will always be grateful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Compassionate, skilled, and truly lifesaving — Mainland Animal Emergency Clinic is the best! When our beloved dog Tucker needed urgent care after unknowingly ingesting rat poison, I was terrified and overwhelmed. The amazing team at Mainland Animal Emergency Clinic took us in immediately and treated Tucker like family from the moment we walked through the door. Dr. Arshdeep Kailay, Dr. Jonal Gurpinder, and others, acted quickly and skillfully — running the right tests, giving him a blood transfusion, and starting life-saving Vitamin K treatment to stabilize his clotting. The level of care and expertise they provided was second to none, and they kept me fully informed every step of the way. What stood out most was their genuine compassion — not just for Tucker, but for me too. They answered every frantic question with patience and empathy, never making me feel rushed or silly for asking. I don’t think a clinic has ever saw a girl cry as much as I did, I was not okay LOL - being 15 hours from home in AB, it was such an overwhelming experience. That being said, I could tell they truly care about each animal’s well-being, and their calm, kind approach made an incredibly stressful situation so much more bearable. Thank you for letting me completely fall apart in your clinic and being the greatest support that I needed. Thanks to Dr. Kailay, Dr. Gurpinder, and their wonderful team’s quick action and excellent follow-up care plan, Tucker is now on the road to a full recovery. I cannot thank this clinic enough for saving his life and giving us more years together. If you ever find yourself in an emergency, Mainland Animal Emergency Clinic is the place you want by your side. I recognize there are so many hospitals in the area to choose from but I PROMISE YOU, by the Grace of God, you won’t regret going here!
