James and Brandon were at my house for two days. They seem like smart, skilled electricians. They chased out several problems I wasn’t even aware of, and switched out several fixtures in my older house. I appreciate how they patiently explained things to me. The estimate that I received was for a flat fee to add a breaker for a hot water heater, and then an hourly fee for everything else. I’m posting this review because, based on what another reviewer said, there may be a pattern with overcharging customers for time worked. For example, I was charged for more hours than the guys were on site for, and I was charged the flat fee on top of the hourly fee. This was all cleared up when I called the person who gave me the original estimate, but I feel that it never should have been an issue in the first place: were they thinking I wouldn’t notice and would just pay it? Also, I do not appreciate that another person who works with the company, Aaron, was not wearing a mask. He came to my property mid-job, apparently to offer advice on a lighting fixture inside. I did not know why he was here and did not know that he intended to enter my home. I had a conversation with him outside; I was wearing a mask as were the other electricians. A bit later Aaron came into my house without a mask on. It seems like common sense to me that if the homeowner is wearing a mask outside and inside, you should not enter their home without also wearing a mask. I have attached a picture of the top of my invoice to prove that I am a legitimate customer. Overall I recommend this company, but if you’ve contracted them under an hourly rate be sure you get what you’re billed for.

James Crouthers did some work on a commercial building for us, his work was good except for something he did. He bypassed the electrical company and tampered with the power and shut it off himself and turned it back on without getting a temporary pull. Well low and behold as time went on we found out we no longer had a active account with the power company. The city of Dayton and the Power company acknowledges that he did not do the proper protocol, but since we are the building owners regardless we had a pay a $500.00 electrical wire tampering fee for a mistake/shortcut that he made. I don't feel that it was right, he bid the job from beginning to end we paid him the contract amount, he made the mistake, but in the end we had to pay for something that was not our fault. My husband asked him to pay for the tampering fee and he refused, he asked again for at least half as my husband was trying to be generous enough to split the difference with him and he still refused. We will never use him again because we are dissatisfied with how James handled the situation. He wouldn't never answered our calls back and only wanted to text most the time and he was slow to respond. I feel any reputable good company would take care of their customers especially for the mistakes they made, in our case this did not happen. I am not slandering him in anyway, this is America I have a right to tell others about the experience we had with him, we will not be using him again in the future or recommending him in anyway.

Response to Elite Electrical regarding their response to our review: We where charged the tampering fee from the electric company, and it had nothing to do with a name or account change at all, that was done way before you all did the job, the account had been in our name for two years prior to y'all doing any work.. This was regarding the power being turned off while y'all did the work, y'all was suppose to get a temporary pull to have the power turned out and y'all never did that, the city said that was the contractors responsibility since you pulled the permit. And if we were suppose to get a temporary pull why you say you were calling the light company to get it, we would have gladly done what was needed if it was our responsibility to do, but you said you were gonna do it, when I asked you after this happened you said you didn't call the light company you just turned power off yourself without doing that. There was no fault on our behalf for what had happened. And if y'all wanted to see a satisfied customer it would have been nice to have gotten a call back from y'all, but as normal you never answer your phone. Another bad experience with James Crouthers, he will not return our call again. We left him a voice mail to see if the work he done for us is under warranty and no call back. Looks like we will have to call another contractor to fix a bad wire in conduit in the wall of our building that keeps tripping the breaker. In our experience he was good until after we paid him, looks like no good customer service for us after the job completed. Once again this is our experience with him and we will never recommend or give him another job with us ever again.
