» Customer Experiences:
We had a great experience at The Kitchen Table after our 8 generation tasting. Started with the pulled pork empanadas and garlic parm fries. Delicious, the empanadas were seasoned great, crispy and the sauce they're served in was spicy (great for dipping the fries in too). The garlic parm fries were incredible, garlicky with lots of fresh shaved parmesan on top. They would have been better and elevated the flavor if they served it with a lemon and herb aoili but I dipped them in the sauce from the empanadas which was "stupid good" as my father in law said. For our main meals we got the brisket, ribs, fried catfish, pizza, burger and Kentucky burgoo. The burgoo was really tasty, lots of tender meat in a delicious broth with beans, collards and corn, a must try while in Kentucky. The brisket and grits were phenomenal, super tender with a great sauce. The grits were cheesy and added a level of complexity to the sweetness of the brisket sauce. I liked the fried catfish but wish it had come with a slice of lemon to add a level of acidity to it, the potatoes were flavorful and the coleslaw added a great crunch, I just wish the fish itself was slightly more seasoned. The ribs were tasty, and burger was out of this world. All in all a great experience with some incredible food and drinks, I don't think you can have a bad meal here or leave hungry.
Food was really good. We shared the pulled pork empanadas and burnt ends pizza. The crust is made with the same yeast used to make the bourbon. Very tasty! 😋 Drinks were not watered down and priced reasonably for the higher end food they serve. The south by southeast was very tasty. Compared to the bourbon breeze which was a bit salty for my taste. Husband had a “we are the proof” bartender’s choice drink. Old fashioned with distillers beer mash. Fun and unique flavors. Waitress was nice. She wanted to get you food and drinks quickly but was not upset with us asking to look at the menu for a minute. Don’t forget to stop by and have a sit with Mr. Noe and Dot.
We visited The Kitchen Table while on vacation hitting the Bourbon Trail. The fried half chicken was amazing, crispy with great flavor. The smoked margherita pizza was very good with smoky flavors that paired well with the other flavors of the pizza. The old fashioned with jim beam white label was exceptional. We would come back if we hit the bourbon trail again in the future.
