Customer experiences
I walked into this store hoping to find a few new things for my dog ā some toys, treats, maybe a new brand of kibble. The place looked tidy and well-stocked at first glance, so I thought it would be a pleasant visit. But from the moment I stepped in, something felt off. No one greeted me, no smile, not even a simple āhello.ā I brushed it off and continued browsing. A few minutes later, an older white woman with straight black hair and poorly drawn-on eyebrows approached me and asked if I needed help. I told her politely that I was just looking around ā nothing more. But instead of moving on, she stayed nearby, circling the aisles and pretending to tidy up while clearly keeping her eyes locked on me. Every time I moved to a different section, she seemed to follow, glancing over her shoulder as if I were doing something wrong. It was uncomfortable, humiliating, and honestly disturbing. I wasnāt the only person in the store, but I couldnāt help noticing I was the only non-Caucasian customer. The way she stared made me feel singled out ā like I was being profiled for simply existing there. Still trying to shake off the tension, I decided to look more closely at some dog food options. As I bent down to check the ingredients, I noticed movement under the shelves ā and to my horror, I saw mice running underneath! My stomach turned. I couldnāt believe that a store selling food for our pets would allow such conditions. It was beyond unsanitary and completely unacceptable. At that point, I had seen enough. Between the discriminatory behavior and the hygiene issues, I left the store feeling disgusted and deeply disappointed. I went down the street to another local pet shop, where the environment was clean, welcoming, and the staff actually treated me like a customer ā not a suspect. This place seriously needs to re-evaluate its staff training, professionalism, and hygiene standards.
Great location. Easy to walk to and garage parking available. They have a lot of newer brands and always have stock available. At least every time I come. Thereās one lady in there with blonde hair. My apologies because I forgot her name, but she has honestly helped me tremendously by finding great quality food for my dog and helping with recommendations regarding his digestive issues. I now am currently buying open farm and the ultra performative freeze dried kibble. My picky eater absolutely loves it, and the recommendations have made a huge difference with his breath. Now that his food is not made with fillers and anything sticky to cause his breath to stink. Iāve been slowly introducing raw food like bones, such as chicken necks, and ribs and he absolutely loves it. They truly love your pets at this location. Theyāre extremely interactive with customers and itās brand new and extremely clean! Definitely recommend this location.
Hands down my favourite pet store! The staff is very kind and helpful. As a first-time dog mom I have a lot of questions and the staff always take their time and answer all of them. So far everything I bought there for my puppy is very good quality. Definitely recommend this place š
Robin was sooooo sweet and helpful. She was very approachable and let us take our time in the store. Thank you so much Robin! Weāll be back because of you (and the kitties!)
