Le Café du Monde

Le Café du Monde is by far one of the best culinary experiences we’ve ever had. The restaurant is gorgeous, and the service was impeccable. Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed, checked in after every course to see how we were enjoying our food, and was always available for any questions. She even pointed out some of the best sellers to help us decide. The food was a-ma-zing. We started with the fried calamari; the dipping sauce was finger-licking good, and the breading was light and not greasy. The beet salad with creamy goat cheese was a perfect combination of flavors. For the main course, we had fresh ricotta ravioli and duck confit. The duck was cooked to perfection. The meat fell apart easily with just a fork. Honestly, it was the best duck I’ve ever had. We finished with profiteroles and a crème brûlée, both delicious and freshly made. For drinks, we tried two of their signature cocktails, but if you prefer something more classic (like a rum and Coke), they’ll happily accommodate even though it’s not listed on the menu. If we ever go back to Quebec (I live on the South Shore), I’m definitely going back for that duck! Overall, the experience deserves more than five stars, hands down.

Great view of St Laurence River. Azamara cruise ship was leaving port when we were dining. The service was excellent, our server was very helpful. We didn't want appetizers and she brought us some warm bread and butter. I ordered the duck and my husband ordered Tartare de Boeuf and they were excellent. The sauce for the duck is superb, tangy sweet. Not a fan of goat cheese but the croquette was crunchy and very tasty.

A beautiful place— we went there for lunch and it wasn’t as busy! definitely need to make a reservation just to be safe! food was really good and our waitress was very attentive! they also serve yummy hot sauces with your food and they were amazing! Will definitely come back next time we visit Quebec City!
