» Customer Experiences:
My dog had her first visit with Dr. Thomas today and I walked away very impressed. My dog is very friendly overall but gets VERY nervous at the vet due to past bad experiences. She gets scared of even the stethoscope in a new office with a new vet and my prior vet didn't bother to try to listen to her heart or lungs during multiple visits because my dog "wasn't having it." I've had vets put a muzzle on her "just in case" when there has been no need (zero bite history, zero aggression.) All that to say - of course now I have a dog that gets overly stressed for vet visits. Completely different experience at East Bend Animal Hospital. They play soft music in the exam room, there's a comfy bed, pheromone calming sprays and scents. Everyone from reception to techs to Dr. Thomas was calm, gentle, positive reinforcement. Not only were they able to do a complete exam, draw blood without any forcing, cornering, excessive nervousness from my pup I also got a wealth of great information. Reading through some of the negative reviews here I think it's obvious but to be clear - if you are someone that believes in science-backed and researched methods and information, Dr. Thomas has a wealth of knowledge and advice. He advised me on products that are supported by research and external review and on things that actually make an impact to preventative health and wellness for my 7 year old dog. There was no pressure to buy products they carry, he informed me on a range of options that were quality while balancing costs. Also I was informed of procedure costs throughout the visit, before any procedures or actions were taken. I understand that things can get unexpectedly expensive but also I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews because pet ownership IS expensive and can be unexpected. It doesn't mean that we can always manage those unexpected costs and I felt Dr. Thomas and the team understood that and discussed options with me while making sure I understood the bare minimum needed to ensure my pet's health and wellness. All this to say - highly recommend, especially if you have a nervous or reactive dog or have had poor experiences at other vets.
Best vet experience I've had with my reactive dog. The staff, techs and vet were so kind, understanding and helpful. Highly recommended them to anyone especially those with reactive, frightened pets.
Both of my cockatiels were seen by Dr. Thomas, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care they received today. He and the vet tech, Tori, were so gentle, kind, and knowledgeable. The entire team made the whole visit smooth and stress-free for both me and my birds. Both birds did so good too. I’m so relieved to have a trusted vet home for them now. Highly recommended.
