» Customer Experiences:
Didn’t purchase MacBook……. it was delivered ok but my situation changed asked if I could return not a problem they arranged for item to be collected and refunded my money without delay …… found trade tech to be exceptionally professional very easy to deal with and great customer service would recommend to family members.
THINK TWICE before buying and ask yourself if you are willing to potentially endure 3 weeks of hassle and wait to (hopefully) get what you have paid for. (edit 12/02/21) - exchanged machine arrived today around noon as DPD had some delays because of severe weather, that's completely understandable yet it definitely adds up to 3 weeks worth of pilling-up frustration. Let's however not forget that if the machine was properly tested in the first place DPD would not have to knock on my door four times - effectively wasting everybody's time and company's resources as it covers courier's fees. When I agreed to the exchange I was told that I will be getting "a very good silver grade" 2014 machine instead of 2013(gold) in mint condition. I gave it green light as I received pictures of the laptop revealing barely any damage to the machine (looking back they were of rather poor quality and did not include any of the corners). On day of its arrival I was surprised to find out nasty dent at the right bottom corner of the MacBook, deep scratches to its case around the trackpad area and various other chips (not mere hairline scratches ) to its other corners and around case around the screen - which luckily is not scratched at all. The machine must have certainly been dropped from significant height onto a hard surface before as there is a visible bulge on laptop’s bottom part raising towards the damaged corner. When I raised the issue and got in touch with a person who runs the business - Rayan (apparently other to the one I have been in touch before) I was bluntly offered a partial refund of 100£ and possibility of keeping the machine. (that’s less than 10% of the original price of the machine). As it’s been over 3 weeks, the laptop works fine, I need it for my course now and I do not have time to research and take another gamble with another refurbishing company I decided to accept the offer. Do I believe it’s a fair compensation for all the time wasted and obscured severity and multitude of damages to the exchanged machine ? My answer to this question would have to be replaced with another question - do you ? And if your answer is positive then with clean conscious, I can recommend you tech trade’s services. For me however, it’s 1 star for now. I still believe that recycling technology is an incredibly important and honourable endeavour and I am grateful that there are companies out there who managed to build a business around it. I just wish Rayan ran his dad's business with more empathy and care. * On 22nd of January I have ordered MacBook Pro 15inch Rentina Display Gold grade from tech trade. Lured by idea of recycling technology, reasonable price and almost 4.6 points scored on trust-pilot I decided to give it a go. The laptop arrived rather quickly as I have paid a little bit extra for faster shipping. As expected the machine showed up without major defects in its appearance. The laptop however, produced unsettling screeching noise when opening / downloading new files. I have recorded the sound, got in touch with Rayan and returned machine to undergo testing. The machine arrived at their base on 3rd of February and Ryan promised me an update on the 5th “the latest”. Fast-forward few days of no communication and lack of response to my emails past agreed date, unable to speak to anyone as the phone line took me straight to the voicemail, I started growing slightly worried and suspicious. Rayan got back to me on 8th of Feb stating that the noise has been caused by a loose screw and once it completes another test that afternoon it will be sent out back to me. I mentioned to Ryan that I have a digital course due to start on 10th of February and would appreciate fast delivery. Machine arrived on 09/02 and was producing exactly same noise that I have been assured they have managed to get rid off. I managed to speak to Dan (I pressed 1 to speak to sales department instead. Clearly they are ready to speak to new potential costumers but give less priority to their already existing ones .) whom I agreed to exchange with.
I have had no troubles with TechTrade. My order of an iMac arrived on time and has had no issues. Warranty has been upheld with ongoing support. Any keyboard issues have been resolved within a day or two. Can't fault them! Thank you for a fast and efficient service.
