Concern About Cashier Interaction – October 26, 2025 at 7:58 PM Dear Owner, Today, October 26, 2025, at around 7:58 PM, I had an upsetting experience with one of your cashiers. When it came time to pay, I told her I had $50 in cash and wanted to pay the remaining balance by debit. She told me, “No, you have to pay everything on debit first, then give me the cash.” I explained that this didn’t make sense — my total was $81, and if I gave her $50 cash, the debit payment should only be $31. She insisted that I pay the full $81 on debit first, and then she would take the cash afterward. I told her that’s not how it works, but she wouldn’t listen. So I paid the full amount by debit, and afterward she said, “Oh, it went through.” I told her of course it did — because she never subtracted the $50. She then said she didn’t know. This left me very upset because I didn’t want to use my debit card. I’m struggling financially, and the $50 cash was a gift from my aunt meant for baby formula for my daughter. To make things worse, a young man in front of me had the same problem with her. He looked confused, spent several minutes checking his receipt, and even walked out of the store still trying to figure it out. I later saw him standing outside reading the receipt again, clearly frustrated. The cashier was a young African-Canadian woman wearing a blue T-shirt with her hair in a ponytail. She seemed unsure of how to handle the transaction. I tried to be patient and understanding, but this situation really upset me. We shop here when we are nearby. The store is clean and the staff are friendly. Our last few trips here has been really irritating. It’s been taking just as long to check out as it is to shop. This Saturday. We waited in line at the cashier only to find out 15 minutes later the one person in front of us is price matching everything. So we packed up our things and pushed our cart to the self check out. Turned out it is even worse. A lot of items was getting flagged for staff overwrite. Including just putting our own bags there. Yes we pressed the own bag option and followed the instructions. It was so bad I jumped on to the second self checkout system and started scanning the items still left in the cart to be done faster while my wife was in the first self checkout system still struggling thru. We understand that the system is trying to prevent theft and make sure everything is paid for but there comes a point when it’s annoying. Between that and unlimited price matching. It’s really not worth our time for us to shop here anymore unless it’s just for an item or two. It’s really a shame. I like this store.

Disappointing Checkout Experience I had a frustrating experience at checkout around 7 PM. The cashier clearly didn’t know what she was doing and made the process confusing. Honestly, someone like this should be fired customers deserve better service than that. ( kinda tall young looking girl ) Do I like the store? Yes I do. It’s my favourite actually it’s just this experience that was so negative. ( oct 26 sunday )
