The girl wearing orange at the main entrance on March 11th 2025 4:36pm was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. She refused to speak to clients in English. She asks you what you want, and ultimately based on her responses you could tell she was either not listening (wearing earbud) or can't understand basic English ("I want an account fee refunded"). She goes on to ask clients, "you don't speak French, right?" (in French) and redirects them to the back because she can't be bothered to even try to serve them. Based on observing a few client interactions, she seems to be redirecting people consistently (never bothering to assist them with her computer at all), as though it is her only job. I don't understand why someone is being paid to tell people to use the ticket number system. (To be fair, on other days I did get assistance with simple issues at the front desk, just not from this girl). Nobody is asking that you be perfect, only that you try. Perhaps a different neighborhood would be a more suitable assignment.
I was initially hesitant after reading some Google reviews, but my experience with Desjardins on Monkland has been outstanding. Our recent appointments were exceptional - they were on time, and the staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, competent, and well-organized. I'm grateful for the excellent service we received. I knew they operated differently from traditional for-profit banks, but learning more about their status as a financial cooperative, combined with our positive interactions, makes me seriously consider moving all my accounts to them.
The regular counter service adviser for everyday transactions. The woman or girl in this case. She was very rude. In the sense of smart remarks and facial movements. Very immature person. And usually you get this behaviour if you are rude to the person first, but I was not. I explained the situation I was having and she was not being helpful at all. I asked for someone else, someone who is definitely higher paid than her (for a reason clearly) and they understood what I was asking. Very rude attitude. Not helpful at all. I’ll tell you what, this is not my usual Banking branch and came there to fix something. I’ll never step foot there again and contemplating leaving Desjardins all together.
