Their rates are usually good and they have feeless accounts but they do so many nonsensical things it turns banking into a tortuous experience. So many other banks are so much better: EQ, Simplii or even Tangerine. It's like management never uses their own dysfunctional website, never calls their call center (no 24/7 help), never transfer money around (long hold times no matter how long you've been a good customer) or a myriad of other issues. And their promo accounts that offer generous interest from time to time have so many restrictions. You can't even move money from your chequing account to your savings promo account yourself. You have to call them! Who does that in 2024??? Got an hour to wait on hold? No problem! If it's nighttime or Sunday you're out of luck because they have no phone help then. But surely chat is available you say. Nope! It's faster to etransfer the money from your Duca checking account to another external account then back to Duca where they DO allow you to deposit the money into your savings promo account. Just an example of how idiotic their policies can be. I cannot imagine dealing with them with a mortgage. You'd have no hair left after pulling it all out in frustration. There seems to be a growing problem with management run by people that are totally out of touch with their own company. Often this is demonstrated by a website that doesn't work well showing they don't use it because they are not tech oriented. If management isn't tech oriented these days it hugely restricts the company in every facet imaginable. Basically you have well educated people with no common sense and little real world practical experience.
Clive Bennett 6100 Finch Ave W, Toronto, ON M9V 0A1 dislocation is the worst my phone on my computer was hacked and they go in my account and take my money and I went there to report it but they said I have to report it to the police first and come with a police report then they can do something about it when I went to report that my account was hacked the worker /teller started to talk to me as if I stole the money I went with the police report but it was a couple days before the new year so they said I will not get on answer until after the New Year'I receive a letter a couple days after the New Year not what I was expecting a letter saying I must close my account I went back there to ask to talk to the manager the racist white teller lady she start to talk to me awake so the teller that was helping me start to have an attitude when I got in there the manager was talking to a client the teller try to discourage me from taking to the manager saying he's going to take more than a hour with the client I said I Will Wait 5 minutes after I sit down he was finished I asked him the update on my file he did not know anything about my case he said my account was closed I asked him what about my money he did not know that my money was missing I asked him about the police report he said he did not see any police report on my file until today they did not start an investigation I write a complaint letter and email a copy to the head office I give them 14 business days to reply to my email and until today I haven't get an answer they violate my consumer rights next I will report them to the (FSRA) Financial Services Regulatory Authority how comes you're a manager and you don't know what's happening under your watch I'm disabled and I work hard for my money that shows me they don't care about you they just want your money
Honestly, a one star is far too much. The lady named sharise or shelly (can't recall her exact name) wasn't willing to remove the hold on the company cheque i was depositing even though I've been with Duca for over 20 years and have never had any fraudulent activity whatsoever. She flat out told me she would not remove the hold (even after looking at my account) and said it was because it wasn't my branch and that she didn't know me personally. I told her I had been to many other duca branches and they never gave me this trouble. She didn't care and was not willing to help me whatsoever. I offered to call my home branch to clear everything up and she said she would email them instead. I told her this is not an option for me because I'm in a rush and I need to clear this up now not later and that I would call my home branch myself on my phone and let her talk to them. She said ok and then proceeded to go back into her office where she ignored me, making some other calls (which she obviously felt was more important) even though I had my home branch manager on the phone waiting to soeak to her and she wouldn't come back out to speak to him. I was getting really annoyed and my home branch manager said sorry and that he would try to call her directly from his phone. He ended up reaching her and the after they spoke she removed the hold. Heres the interesting part. After the hold was removed sharise didn't come out to say sorry or anything......in fact she stayed right in her chair and continued to ignore me. So, basically, I go into this bank and she's unwilling to help me at all and I had to do all the work to speak to my home branch, she refuses to speak to the manager on my phone because she thinks I'm a lying criminal and ignores me when I try to get her to talk on my phone and then she doesn't even have the curtisy to come and apologize. Duca, youre better then this. Why are you employing usless management at the rexdale branch? How can someone treat a loyal customer this way? I just don't get it, but im absolutely disgusted. Next time this happens im closing my account. Get your act together. Hire competent people.wbo are willing to work for their job......to help people....not turn your back on them. Absolutely disgusting
