I’ve been going to see Shelly Snook for haircuts a while now and never had an issue. I wanted to try something different with my hair, so I asked if she could do the Fox Hair style, and agreed upon the attached reference. She did not quote me an amount before beginning the treatment. During the treatment she ended up getting high volume bleach on my scalp, and when I told her that it burned she wiped my scalp with a paper towel. She continued to finish the bleach treatment and moved on to the color treatment. The red is actually a beautiful shade and I’m happy with how that turned out but the black ends were very unevenly applied and are far bigger than the agreed reference photo. At the point where she washed the dye out of my hair she had seen two other clients. At the end of my service she took pictures (attached) and I paid $300 for my service. I didn’t say anything at the time because it looked nice from the front but after I got home and inspected closer I was not satisfied with the result for the cost of the service. I also could not wash my hair for days after because my scalp was raw and peeling from the bleach treatment. When I called the Salon to express my dissatisfaction, the receptionist informed me that Shelley would reach out to me to discuss my service. When she called me she was aggressively defensive of her work claiming that she did everything right and that she actually undercharged me for my service. She said, “What, do you want your money back? Because you’re not going to get it.” I felt very disrespected by the way she spoke to me and informed her that I would not be seeing her again. I called the salon again shortly after to speak with a manager, but when the manager Amy called me she was also very defensive of Shelley and stated that she did not believe that I could be dissatisfied with the haircut after my initial positive reaction. She also cast doubt on my claim of having a chemical burn, asking me if I thought she should check the security cameras to verify that Shelley got high volume bleach on my scalp. She asked what I wanted from her, and I would’ve been satisfied with a recut and color or a partial refund, but I was so blown away by the response of not only Shelley but also the manager Amy that I told her I don’t think I can return to the salon and I would rather just be done with it. This is probably the worst treatment I’ve ever received from a salon.

I see Ricky Vincent at Looks Salon and Spa and he is AMAZING!! I’ve loved every appointment, every color, every cut, everything! He talks you through everything so you know exactly what’s going on, he’s incredibly knowledgeable in his field, and he will take you from beast to beauty in a way that is good for you, good for your hair, and you’ll get the results you’ve been craving! I’ve been trying to do ashy brown (closest to my natural color) for almost two years now, and Ricky was the only one to be able to do it right and give me what I’ve been asking for and I LOOOVE it!!! He is a fantastic stylist, amazing human, and I highly recommend if you’re looking for your permanent go-to stylist, Ricky is who you want to see. (Excuse the bathroom before photos 🙈) but they’re the most recent I have for a before/after look. Photos really don’t do it justice. I had so much warmth, red and gold in my hair and Ricky has been the ONLY one to pull it out slowly (so my hair stays healthy 💁🏻‍♀️) and get me to that cooler, ashier brown I’ve been looking for. Could t ask for better!!

JULIA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. Short story- after moving here 4 years ago, I had a hard time finding a salon and stylist. I was completely new to the area, with babies and neglected hair. After my first haircut with Julia, I knew I found my place!! Looks is always bustling- lots of happy clients- and is clean, welcoming, and bright. Julia made me feel at ease and we connected right away. She is super sweet, talented, and always makes me feel my best. My blowouts last at least a week if not more!! (She went in maternity leave and I waited patiently for her return) I did a full color with her this past spring, and 4 months later I am still getting compliments. (I do a cut every 4 months, and will probably do a color and glaze once a year if that to maintain my chocolate caramel locks.) She even squeezed in a little correction for my front pieces today and made sure I was happy with my hair before I left. Her product recs have also never failed, my purchases are all a part of my hair care. Her mom washes my hair and is always very sweet, professional, and does an amazing job too. Book with Julia, you will come back again and again feeling amazing!!

If you’re looking for the perfect ash blonde, look no further than Rick. Not many stylists can nail the tone without it looking brassy or flat, but Rick is truly a gifted colorist. He absolutely exceeded my expectations and gave me the exact shade I’ve always wanted. On top of his talent, he has such an awesome personality—fun, easy to talk to, and makes the whole appointment a great experience. I walked out feeling confident and so happy with my hair. Highly recommend Rick to anyone who wants amazing color and a stylist who genuinely cares about making you look your best! If you’ve been hesitant about trying a new colorist, trust me—go see Rick. You’ll be so glad you did!
