We are second owners of our home. It is 3-1/2 years old, and we have lived in it for a year and a half now. I was suspect of the limited capabilities of the HRV/ERV unit to bring down the humidity through the winter season. I was also surprised at how clean the filter on the unit was, checking it every month. The other day I was outside and the ERV came on, and the vent sound was rather odd. After having a quick look, it turns out that the exhaust vent was installed on the intake ducting, and the inlet vent was installed on the exhaust duct. So the vents would inhibit (or in practical terms, stop) the intake and exhaust to and from the ERV. The easy remedy to this would be to simply reverse the ducts on the mounts on the ERV, but that would put the outside air intake next to the hot water heater gas exhaust, which is a no-no. I called up ProAll to see if they would correct this installation error. The response was that the initial installation was outside of the warranty period. They would send a “qualified technician” out to “carry out a diagnostic evaluation” for $139, and any further work would add appropriate charges. I thought that this inappropriate installation was not a warranty issue, it was more akin to a recall on an automobile with manufacturing deficiencies. ProAll did not agree. I have several engineering degrees and 30+ years of technical experience, and this is a very simple issue which I can remedy myself. I’ve just had a shoulder replacement several weeks ago, but in a few weeks I should be physically capable of doing this myself. The ERV is turned off now, but I think if the furnace does kick in during a cold night and it won’t draw any outside air, but for a short period I hope this is not too problematic. I thought that ProAll might want to stand behind their work and take responsibility to correct the error on the installation, however, that minimal level of pride in their work was demonstrated to not be something of value to them.
Professional service and phenomenal customer service. Scheduling a site call & installation was done efficiently and very quickly, they were able to get to my home several days faster than other competition. Every step of the job was explained and shown to me, including all equipment and next steps. Very professional, courteous, helpful, fast and knowledgeable service personnel who took the time to not only keep all work mess to a bare minimum, but also took the time clean up afterwards and go well beyond. - We live in a new residential area with nothing but construction going on around us, we don't yet have any grass so we are living in either a mud bowl or a dust cloud depending on the weather. The Pro All guys took the time to clean after themselves but also swept excess clay and dirt from the porch and surrounding area! They really go our of their way for you.
I am very disappointed with the service from Pro All. I used to deal with Robb’s which I was quite happy with but unfortunately they are now owned by Pro All. I called to book my yearly cleaning service for my furnace and was quoted $129 that included an hour of labour if any work needed to be done. I was informed I needed a new motor for my fan. The guy was here for 28 minutes, replaced the motor only, did not clean the furnace and charged me the $129 plus an additional hour of labour. When i questioned it he just said thats what he has to charge, with no real explanation. I was also charged an additional (over $400) for the motor. My furnace was 5 1/2 years old and I had registered online for the extended warranty (10 years) so it should have covered the part. I showed the guy the paperwork I had regarding my online registration, but since they didn’t have a copy of it I was told too bad I had to pay for it. I will never use this company again and would definitely not recommend them to anyone.
