I've had an amazing time working with John on my newly adopted puppy! My puppy Luigi is a mix of very difficult breeds (Aus. cattle dog, Belgian mal, German shep), so I needed someone who could help wrangle him. John taught me how to use engagement, markers, and clicker training while working on basic obedience. We worked via virtual sessions (video calls), which works great for my schedule. After a few weeks, Luigi's mastered sit/stay/down, wait/come, and some fun recall tricks! It's made handling my puppy so much easier and I'm very happy with our progress. John understands dog behavior very well, and does a great job explaining how and why certain techniques work. He's also provided me with tips and advice on curbing Luigi's problematic behavior, like chewing and jumping on furniture. I would absolutely recommend AgapeDogs. This is my first puppy and I would be totally lost without their help. If you feel overwhelmed or don't know where to start with your new dog, this is the place to go. 10/10 would train again.

I was searching for a trainer for my “spicy” baby boy, Marco. He’s super affectionate but walking him was stressful and becoming impossible. I thought he would grow out of it. He’s just a 4yr old puppy. I reached out to Alohomora Dog Training for help. Sandra was incredible. She educated us about living, reading and working with our reactive pup. The changes have been incredibly positive. We have made tremendous progress and love our walks. We are still a work in progress and continue to follow Sandra’s lessons. I would like to share my experience with Sandra, a remarkable individual who excels in training both people and dogs. When it comes to your dog's behavior, wouldn't it be more advantageous to collaborate with someone who has undergone a similar journey? My beloved Zella struggles to manage her emotions and deal with intense feelings. As a result, everyday activities such as taking walks, welcoming guests, taking car rides, or visiting the vet become nearly impossible. I didn't expect Sandra to focus solely on training Zella to sit and stay. Instead, I sought her assistance in helping me support Zella. Sandra specializes in working with exceptional dogs who struggle with behavioral challenges. Her extensive personal experience with her own behaviorally challenged canine companion sets her expertise apart. It brought me great solace to know that I was receiving guidance from someone who had encountered similar situations. Regarding something as important as your dog's behavior, it's beneficial to work with someone who has gone through a similar journey. Through Sandra's training, I have come to recognize the vital significance of daily desensitization and counterconditioning and the importance of listening to Zella. Taking the time to listen to her voice is crucial in establishing trust, enabling her to trust me in other intimidating situations. From the start of our program to the end, my dog is unrecognizable. I could barely take her outside without her freaking out. She was anxious and scared of everything and although ive done other programs with her none of it stuck like it did with Sandra. I learned so much about my dogs behaviors and signals and im a better owner because of it. Now we are able to go on walks, go to the park, be around people and other dogs and i dont have to worry about my dog being uncomfortable. The biggest win was working up to have our dog be our ring bearer at our wedding ❤️ she did her job really well and wasnt barking or scared the whole time. Sandra helped us in so many ways. Now i feel confident that i can give my dog the life she deserves 🐾 ❤️
