Ahhh where do I start with Victor. So I was doing my research and he had good reviews on Google and lawyer sites. So I booked him as he said he would beat my case on the phone (told me sweet nothing as hes an amazing talker), and Im new to booking lawyers. I paid him $5000 July 2024, and all he did was have his associates appear in court via video until the judge made him appear himself on video. He lied to me and said he had a CPT ( Crown Pretrial) when I did the research he didn't even have a CPT as the courts had no record of a CPT being done. I paid him 5000 and in his limited scope retainer he said he would resolve the case to which he didn't do anything and when my Judicial Pretrial came he wanted me to retain him again for another $5000 after he did nothing to begin with but adjourn my case many times and charged me for video appearances by his colleagues. I went to every court date on video myself as I didn't trust his word after i paid him in full and I wanted to see what he's doing other than just pushing my case along to make the money I gave him in his pocket. After I seen that I was screwed over by Victor it was hard for me to hire and trust another lawyer so I decided to self represent myself and take it to trial. So fast forward I took my case to trial October 6th 2025 and won my case (all charges Withdrawn) without the help of Victor Obrien. I promised myself that once I won this case I would tell everyone how Victor screwed over me a hard working man into believing he would help me, but he knew from the beginning what he was doing to make an easy 5k. I am in the process of reporting this to the Law Society of Ontario as well as figuring out how Victor can give me back my 5k of wasted money on his unprofessional service. Ohhh what he also did was make phone conversations limited and he would barely contact me unless I rang his phone off which is highly unprofesional for a lawyer. Look at photo below and see what I mean by limited conversation. He did nothing with my case and wanted another 5k retainer as seen below to do another CPT which 1 wasn't done in the first place as mentioned above. Word of advice stay far from Victor Obien as he will talk like he's going to win your case but does the bare minimum and wants more money in the end. He has no integrity for his clients and only cares about the money in your pocket. Like I said I beat 11 charges by myself without his help after him saying he will win my case. Stay positive people and watch out for these lawyers taking advantage of your hardship Be careful as he will threaten you if you leave a negative review as you can see below as well he sent me an email saying his defamation lawyer will be contacting me by Tuesday if I don't take down the review. I told him go ahead I'll see you in court as there is nothing wrong with leaving an honest review on a business page for a business that didn't serve you well. Makes you think how many people he threatened to take down their honest reviews that were scared to get sued so his reviews can look so good. I will keep it up until courts instruct me to take it down.
