Class reunion...perfect venue

We went to the Valentine’s Day dinner. The process of ordering online wasn’t bad, but that was about as good as it got. We were seated and there were some soft crackers with different toppings that were all room temperature (I think that they were supposed to be chilled). There was water in the water glasses and it to had been sitting there for a while. We were given bread, but when we asked for more, she said that they were out. When they brought the salads they were very dry. I think it was supposed to be a Caesar salad, but couldn’t be certain. My wife and I both got the steak and shrimp. It came with potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes had absolutely no seasoning. The asparagus was cold and almost raw. The shrimp wasn’t seasoned at all. The steak was prepared medium as we requested, but there was no seasoning and the gravy was something out of a jar at best. The quality of the meat was something far below “choice”. The worst part of the meal was the dessert. It was crème brulie but it had almost no crust and the inside was liquid, not a custard. Also, nobody ever offered us drinks, coffee, or water refills (we had to ask). There was a cash bar, but you also had to go up there if you wanted anything to drink other than water. They were very understaffed. The atmosphere was okay, but I could never eat there again. I expect more out of Topeka.

Great atmosphere and wonderful group of people. Only thing wrong was the waiting staff didn't make sure our water glasses were filled and never came around and collected the empty plates. We sat with dirty dishes in front of us the whole night. I had 1 glass of water the whole night by the time I left I was very dry.

Nice venue downtown, plenty of space for an event for 250 people.
