An Ode to Pondi Creole cuisine! I’ve been coming to Pondicherry for several years now and this is the first time I’m seeing Pondi Creole cuisine being served at a restaurant! Usually, this hasn’t left the Pondi home kitchen! Dropped by for lunch and tried the Vegetarian Virundhu (thali). Every item was delectable. So much depth of flavour! Especially the tamarind gravy paired with the rice is too good! Would love to try other Creole items in future. Most places in Pondi serve some version of French food and it’s pretty much the same menu everywhere. However Pondi is a lot more than just French food. The Creole influence is what makes it truly Pondicherian! The service is excellent and staff is very friendly. Definitely ask them about Pondi Creole and Vietnamese food. The ambience is just amazing as well. Decor is tastefully done with beautiful furniture and artwork. Very mellow relaxed vibe! Definitely check this place out. You won’t find Pondi Creole outside of Pondicherry!

Superb food! This place has Franco Pondicherry food. They have a small menu smaller still for vegetarians but the Thali was outstanding! With the crispy cutlets with a mint chutney and the rice with brinjal curry, not to forget the beetroot salad. It has a relaxing ambience and is quite light on the pocket too. Unfortunately I got too carried away with the food to click pictures!

This place is not for everyone, but if you like quaint cafés with really good food and vibrant interiors and fresh air, you’d love this place. It’s the first floor of a building, and you can choose to sit near the open windows and witness the roads and bustle of white town. Service is super friendly and nice, we ordered Thai curry with a side of rice and the French toast and it was both lovely. They also lit the candle on the table for us. Very Pondyish.
