Sad that it has come to this. Been buying from Dixons Auction literally for DECADES. Never had any issues until recently....Ed...Billy...Jenny...Bruce great bunch of people. Purchased several items from 3/12/2025 Sale in Chester....upon arriving to pick up my items on 3/14 was informed of a break-in day(s) before several of my items were "taken". Hey "shit" happens, I totally understood...life is life. Was told NOT to sign the onsite Invoice and that I would be contacted the following Monday regarding missing items.refund. Monday came and went no contact, figured I'd give it a couple days...no biggie. Sent off a Text through their "contact me" feature on the Website have used it before numerous times..always got a response...nada this time around. Hey people are busy...got things going on..I understand...let it slide few more days. Called on Fri 21st stated my problem and was told blah blah blah someone is still working on blah. What the hell is there to work on?...never received my items....Credit my acct back...its now 3/27...2 damn weeks after my pick up....blatantly clear after 3 Contact attempts its not gonna happen.A shame after decades of doing Biz with Dixons it has to end this way....with me filing with my Bank to get the missing items charged back to my C.Card. Never did quite buy the Break-in story...what kind of Thief breaks in and removes/bags the items on the Shelf neatly...Employee theft? or items sold too cheaply(which they did by the way).
This was a great auction house until about 6-9 mos ago. Definitely went down hill. I used to enjoy buying stuff from here but staff has become very rude and the new platform is not user-freindly. Miranda seems to be the only one in the shop with any customer service skills...hence the 2 stars. Whatever changes in management that happened recently are not for the better. The pickup area has also become a huge mess and borderline hazardous. I can't imagine the landlord being happy with the clutter.
Stay away from this place, they’ve turned deception into an art. I participated to two auctions for items coming (supposedly) from Lowe’s. I bid on a Dyson vacuum cleaner, presented in its box as if it were new – but it was actually used, the head was covered with heavy scratches and the container was full of dirt. I bid on Fiskars limb loppers, with “the original label on” ; these loppers had been heavily used, to the point that the edge of the blade was broken on a third of its length - in other words, these loppers are as good as scrap metal. I bid on a Fluidmaster conversion system, for which I put a maximum bid of $10 (knowing that it is selling for $22.50 on Amazon). I found myself “the winner” with a bid of $30 that I had never put in. There is one star to this review, but only because the system does not allow no star.
