I stopped in to get an international driver's license. The people there were incredibly helpful. I'm glad I'm a AAA member

They overcharged me for 5 yrs. In November 2019 I paid off my car and immediately called my AAA agent to request liability only. For 5 yrs my bill just steadily increased. I called and emailed several times over the course of that 5 yrs to try and lower it. Previously I was told my bill was based off my credit score. So when I got my credit score near 800, I was told I had the best rate. November 2024 I bought a new car only to be quoted nearly $600 a month. I questioned it & was told it would lower if I moved my older car to liability only. For 5 yrs after I had requested to remove full coverage, it was never done. For 5 yrs I reached out several times to question why my bill was increasing and if we could somehow lower it. My bill with new car only- full coverage and my older one - $313/month. I canceled yesterday. I have a new insurance company that for the same cars, renters insurance & no yearly fee for the equivalent of AAA’s membership/road side assistant - $152.25/month. And all that money I paid for full coverage, gone. I would love to see AAA dispute any of this, I’ve kept ALL my emails between myself and AAA from 2013. The AAA agent that caused this apparently no longer works there, I wonder why. Fraudulent practices?

Avoid this location like the plague. It's disgusting how a majority of their "employees" just stand around doing nothing for hours. If I call during your business hours, answer the phone - stop being lazy.

I have been with this franchise for over 15 years starting with Deb Petzel…then Marty Lee…Then Kevin Bryant. I had always been happy with the service and the competitive pricing! So much so that we stayed with them after moving out of Iowa City…this last year or so there has been a lot of change for this franchise, unfortunately not for the better! I called around as I do from time to time to get new quotes (as everyone should) this time another company gave me a better quote, lower deductible, and same coverage…why wouldn’t I switch? The other company handled everything for me cancelling my home and auto policies. Only to find out after my new agent reached out RE: my escrow balance check hadn’t been received yet and it had been more than 14d so he wanted to make sure that I hadn’t gotten it. (I hadn’t ) so I called to follow up with AAA. Jordan L. Paulson answered the phone that evening (12-23-24) he wasn’t particularly friendly, sounding like he had better things to do. I explained why I was calling. He told me that only my car policy had been cancelled. I explained that wasn’t true. My new agent had the proof of cancellation dated 12-07-24 for both policies. He told me that he didn’t have them and he would need proof to cancel the other policy. I said ok I can give you my new agent’s number he has all the documentation, I don’t. He told me I needed to send it…got really short and hung up on me. That was a first, I’d always had great experiences with AAA. I called my agent explaining that AAA is saying they don’t have an order to cancel the homeowner policy. Christina was very kind and right on top of it. She got copies of the paperwork kept me on the line. Called back and got Jordan (Jay) again. She kindly asked to speak to the manager. He told her he was the only one in the office. So she spoke with him, explaining what we had discussed (bringing up that he hung up on me) she gave him the documents that he needed and waited on the line until he confirmed he had them and confirmed the policies had all been canceled. The escrow balance was supposed to be mailed to my new agent…they mailed it to me…just another step I have to do that I shouldn’t have!! (He was also unprofessional with her so throughout their conversation. Everything was handled and I am no longer a AAA of Iowa City cheerleader. Hopefully you can work on your customer care experience again because if Jay had been my 1st impression he would have been my last…
