If I could give zero stars I would. STAY AWAY!! I contracted them to lay sod at our house a few months ago (well before all this heatwave nonsense started). Not my first rodeo with new sod so watered appropriately and took care of it as per their instructions. Nearly 1/3 of it never took and completely died to the point where even now you can just pick up a dead square. On top of that, weeds immediately popped up that I’ve never had on this property since 2018 (barnyard grass) that have completely taken over and choked out a large portion of the St. Augustine that’s left. I can only guess they used the cheapest sod they could find that already had weeds in it. I had a neighbor who laid sod down at basically the same time as we did, and another who laid just a few weeks ago (at the start of the heatwave) and both of those yards are doing just fine. Victor with Acadiana Choppers tried to blame it on the heat, can’t be when my neighbors yards are thriving. They’ve completely hung me out to dry and said it’s not their problem. See the photos for yourself (the grass that’s up against the flower beds I laid myself, prior to them laying the rest, which has done just fine!). This was a MASSIVE $8,000 MISTAKE for a yard of weeds. BUYER BEWARE!! Edit (9/1/2023) In response to the comments to this original review by Acadiana Choppers: The information regarding the watering in this response is completely false. At no point in time did we let the yard dry out. On the trips that Mr. Cobi did come out to the property he said in person that it looks like the watering was adequate. We watered every single morning and evening (in order to avoid the most evaporation) for 2 months (now 3 because we are still watering). Originally Acadiana Choppers employees said to stop watering after week 4 to 5. I contacted Victor and his team to express my concerns about the heat starting to rise and they then informed me to start watering again which was already/still taking place. When Mr. Paul Romero (who is a Grass and Rock Shop employee, not Acadiana Choppers) came out to meet me at the house (which was supposed to be Victor himself but instead sent "one of my sod vendors") and Mr. Paul originally directed me to stop watering (check your texts Victor, the proof is there as you said it yourself "I know Mr. Paul told you to stop watering. But did you stop 100%.") After which you said to continue watering and lengthen the watering time to 45min-1hr to which I replied that we already were. So, the statement that was made in the response "Mr. Paul concluded and explained to you that you were not watering nearly enough. He also gave you some instructions to follow in the future to ensure proper watering." is an outright lie as our text conversation is in direct conflict with your published response statement. In the end my water bills starting at the time that the sod was installed (last 3 months) was: June 39,400 gallons @ $419.30, July 28,800 gallons @ $313.72, and August 27,400 gallons @ 299.78. The average household uses 2-3,000 gallons on average a month. Again, watering instructions were followed exactly as the employees of Acadiana Choppers directed and as such I will not accept the conclusion that we did not water enough. I've already contacted our local LSU Ag and will be meeting with him as soon as he's available. "It's our understanding that you have decided you are not interested in resolution..." After having filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau my action response is that I'm seeking resolution from the company. You responded to that complaint this morning so again; this is a false statement. I'm disappointed that it's come to this but I'm within my right to leave negative reviews for a business that did not meet the expectations that I paid for. Threating legal action for slander (through text message none the less) will not pressure me into removing my posts. I do find it interesting though that a couple days after I posted my review a new one pops up praising AC's sod installation. Funny how that works right?

Acadiana Choppers went above and beyond with our landscaping. They installed a complete package, including sprinkler system and LED lighting. Highly recommend Victor and his crew for all your residential or commercial landscape and lawn care needs.

Acadiana Choppers has done various jobs for a large scale community that I manage for the last 7 years. They have planted hundreds of trees, sodded parks and playgrounds and other areas in the neighborhood as well as complete landscaping in new areas. They have done a phenomenal job and we plan to continue to use them for many years to come!
