Update that the representative from Sureflow Plumbing who has been texting me suggested that they would engage a lawyer because I posted about my experience. I was quite disappointed initially with the service and estimate from Sureflow Plumbing. They installed a sewage ejector in December 2020. They installed a Liberty Pumps model. We noticed that the sewage ejector wasn't running a few weeks ago, so I called them back again. The technician who came claimed that the float valve was seized up and that would require an entire new sewage ejector. I asked if they could just fix the float and he said no. He said Sureflow would send me an estimate. They sent me an estimate for $2495 (+HST). When I asked for an estimate where they separated the cost of the part from the labour, they said that "They are always priced as a set fee and never with parts and labour separately so that being said, I do not know what the breakdown is. I will be glad to ask our estimating department and try and get you a breakdown if possible, but as I said, it’s not typically broken down that way and they have never had anyone ask us in the past at least in the last 15 years that I’ve worked here." That was February 21/2025. I sent a follow up on Feb 26/25. I posted a negative review on March 11/25 and then received a follow-up. Meanwhile, I called Liberty Pumps directly and they sent me a replacement float for free. After I posted this review, Sureflow came back and separated out the parts and the labour. The cost of the pump is $1395; labour is $700; cleaning the pit is $400. They said that my emails were going to spam. They have since offered to rectify the situation by refunding me the cost of the initial assessment. I have declined this offer. I'm happy to pay the initial assessment fee. My preference is estimates that separate out materials and labour costs.
