Let me share an unfortunate situation with this "top seller". We purchased a used Vulcan Griddle from them. I am in a whole different state (a LONG WAYS AWAY). It was used, we knew this, but it said it was guarenteed to have been tested, to work and have all that is expected for the Griddle. We received the griddle. Being a little diner and little resources, I did manage to get the griddle installed. However, we noticed upon install that the unit was missing its grease pan (the ad said nothing about anything missing). I thought, ok, I can deal. But then we attempted to use this Griddle. The left hand side immediately would not work. It was intermitent, so it would try to, but then it failed and stopped completely. NOW I have a problem. Being that we are open 7 days a week, I immediately called out a tech of a company who works on Vulcan locally. I was praying it was something simple and was just because the unit was shipped a long ways. Sadly, the Technician informed me that was not the case. Sadly, it was the 2 theromostats/temp controllers on the left side of the unit. They had failed. The company gave us a quote to replace them. EXPENSIVE. I thought, no way, that is almost the cost of the used Griddle. So, my husband having experience working on these and replacing said controllers, we sought out the best possible price on the market and express ordered the parts to us. While we waited, I contacted acitydiscount per the information on their business info on ebay. It was some weird message about being out of the office and to email a very specific email. I did. Meanwhile, our parts arrived, we still had not heard from acitydiscount. We decided there was no other choice but to replace the parts immediately as it was causing so much trouble in the kitchen only have half a griddle (it is our only one!). When I still had not heard from acitydiscount, I figured they were ignoring us. I thought maybe leaving an ebay review would help get them to respond. Sure enough, they reached out via the messenger section of ebay. They said they would look into things and get back to us. I had sent them the invoice with all the adjustments. What would have been originally $1720.68 we had brought down to $785.82. All I wanted was to be reimbursed. They promised to get back to us the next day. Then nothing. More nothing. Then a week later I wrote again and they sent me some rando auto response and still nothing. Then they finally responded and told us to basically go screw ourselves. the 30 day window was now closed and they would not help us or do anything because we didn't "get their permission" to repair the unit!!! Even now, they keep trying to lay all the blame on me. I am a very small business owner. Obviously I do not matter to them. They gloated that I didn't do my "research" and try to find them online. I had no idea they had a brick and mortar. I don't live in Georgia! They rammed it home with how amazing they are with being a "top seller" on ebay and how very fantastic and awesome they are and how very stupid I obviously was. Yeah, I was stupid for doing business with people who think they are so high and mighty that they don't care if they screwed me over. They know what they did was wrong and ebay (because they delayed me and the 30 day period was up) would not lift a finger to help us in any way. They knew that would happen if they dragged their feet. Shame on this company for not making it right. What a disgrace and unethical and unkind. You hurt my business with this and you couldn't even care. Be warned. They won't help if they screw up. They DO NOT CARE.

As a new restaurant owner with no previous experience buying commercial equipment, I can tell you that many salespeople will talk over your head. They speak "at" you or "past" you - not to you. So when I first came to A City last year I expected much of the same. But that's not what I got. I was warmly welcomed. Every question was answered with details. Dax introduced himself to me and from that moment on, he never forgot my face or my name. Whenever I came in, he made me feel seen. Mind you, I wasn't spending a ton of money either. Well our prep station caught on fire last week. We've been in business for 1 year. This was a huge blow. A City happened to have a used one. I didn't even check anywhere else. I came right in. Dax was with another customer, but Brian helped me, he's another great guy. Brian gave me the tech report on the used equipment and provided information about the brand. I came back to A City to make this purchase because I never forgot how Dax made me feel. Like I mattered and like my business mattered. If you're just starting out or have an existing restaurant business, please give A City Discount a chance to earn your business. They sell new and used equipment.
