We are starting our 7th year at Agia Sophia Academy as a family. My children started in the Montessori preschool where they learned the fundamentals, and are now really taking off with the Classical Education program as they become well-versed and comfortable in multiple subjects--math, literature, science, faith, history, and more. This school also provides excellent Music & PE and Art classes, as well as Library time and Greek & Latin instruction a few days per week. More importantly, the school is led with the most kind-hearted teachers and administration parents could be blessed to have. The children are taught from a young age to love and respect all people and their environment, and they are instilled with a personal responsibility to bring forth kindness into the world, just as the Orthodox church teaches. While I am thrilled with the excellent academic and cultured education my children are receiving, I could not be more overjoyed as I watch them develop into good humans. Details and logistics: Elementary classes are mixed grades (usually 2 grades per class), but capped around 16 students per class. The older students take on a more leadership role one year, and then have the opportunity to learn from role models the next. The student body is very ethnically diverse, and we have the opportunity to learn from many other cultures. The school provides after-school care which is helpful for working parents who cannot pick up right at 3pm. There are 2 musical recitals each year, and several other events for both fundraising and fellowship, which builds a warm and loving family environment.

ASA is the best school choice!! When our family moved to Beaverton, OR, we spent a lot of time researching elementary schools for our two daughters. After visiting and learning about many options, ASA stood out as the clear choice. From the start, we were impressed by the school’s excellent student-to-teacher ratio and its outstanding Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten programs. ASA’s commitment to educating the whole child, its nurturing and engaging staff, and the warm, healthy Christian environment immediately resonated with us. The school not only offers affordable tuition but also fosters a real sense of community—a place where families feel connected and supported. ASA has truly been a blessing to our family, and we’re so thankful to have found such a special place for our children to learn and grow.

My two girls attend ASA, and I couldn’t be happier with the positive experience they’ve had so far. The teachers are truly amazing—dedicated to each child’s success academically, socially, and spiritually. The individualized attention my daughters receive is absolutely priceless, and the sense of community and support is unmatched. I’m incredibly grateful that I chose ASA for my girls; it’s truly an amazing school! “I highly recommend ASA to any parent looking for a school that truly supports their child’s growth and success.

Agia Sophia has been a major blessing for our family. We have two kiddos in the Montessori classroom for 3 yr olds - kindergarten and they are both thriving. I am so impressed by how much our kids are learning (they are both reading and writing!) and by how much they both truly enjoy it. The teachers are amazing and truly meet each kid where they are at socially and academically. We are so thankful that we found ASA!
