Amanda Gagnon Dog Training

I have nothing but praise for the trainers, staff, and programs at AGDT. My dog, Teddy, a Havanese who is currently 6 months old, loves participating in the classes and socials. He always comes home tired and happy. The trainers are fantastic and provide great advice and tips . Teddy attended Puppy Kindergarten, Puppy Level 2, and now goes to Day School at least once a week. He has learned so much (as have I) and is very well socialized because of his interaction with the other dogs and humans. I am happy that the socials are supervised by trainers, who monitor the dogs interactions and engage them in play. Also, the staff is incredibly friendly, responsive, and patient. I am so glad that I discovered AGDT and have taken advantage of all it has to offer. Teddy wanted me to give them a 10-paw rating!

My husband and I have a five year old Whoodle (wheaten terrier and poodle mix). She has issues with resource guarding with myself and my husband when we are around other dogs. We’ve seen various trainers over the years with mix success and assurance over their credentials. After long deliberation and research, we decided to get another Whoodle puppy. My husband has allergies to dogs and this is one of the few breeds he has found that do not cause inflammation. I was very anxious about the situation in case our current dog would be aggressive or unsettled with the addition. Before we got the puppy, we consulted with our vet, Heart of Chelsea (who is generally amazing). Heart of Chelsea recommend we contact one of their preferred trainers, which included Amanda Gagnon dog training. From the point of booking the initial session, they were lovely to work with. Their services might be slightly more expensive that the neighborhood dog trainer, but they are worth every penny as these people are the real deal. Melissa came to our apartment to meet our current dog and help us with some tips on how to integrate a puppy as well as how to approach our dog’s aggressive behavior toward other dogs. Melissa so professional, smart, but also real. It didn’t feel like she was in any way judgmental or condescending. She offered great advice in person and also via email for follow-up questions. We had her come back again after we get the puppy to check-in on approach and progress. Their services SIGNIFICANTLY reduced my angst about the new puppy situation and made me feel like I had realistic, logical, and positive methods to tackle the situation. I cannot recommend this Company more for care with your beloved dogs. Melissa and Amanda Gagnon are now go-to resources for us in making sure our furry family members are happy and healthy.

We were introduced to AGDT by a friend, who had a successful experience with their dog. We were the unexpected owners of a Cavapoo puppy and were desperate for help. My initial contact was with Matt, who was wonderful. We had a challenging scheduling issue, but Matt was determined to make it work and he came through in a big way; he truly exemplifies customer service and AGDT is lucky to have him. Matt set us up with Coralys, a certified dog trainer, who was new to the AGDT team. She is a dog whisperer, pure and simple, and I think a human one, as well. She patiently worked with our pup and with us; trust me, we needed more work than the puppy. Bottom line is that she has taught us what to look for in our dog, how to redirect and reward, and our lives have all been changed for the better. Coralys does private training as well as classes, and she is simply amazing, following up with us via email after each visit with notes about what we worked on and worksheets on what to do. Also want to give a shout out to AGDT for their free, online call-in sessions for puppy assistance, which we did in the days leading up to our initial appointment with Coralys; it was a lifesaver! Grateful to Matt, to Coralys and to the AGDT team!
