We bought a used car along with an extended warranty (for a significant amount of money), and problems started almost immediately. We had to wait far too long for a service response: the dealership asked us to bring the car in on Friday, but it sat there for almost two weeks. Every day we were told that no issues were found, when in reality the car hadn’t even been inspected. This is a work vehicle, and during that downtime we suffered major losses. When they finally looked at it, we were told the issue was minor — that the brakes were just starting to wear and the car was safe to drive. However, only two days later the brake fluid leaked out completely and the brakes failed. Thankfully no one was injured, but this negligent attitude from the service department could easily have led to a tragedy. On top of that, I am still waiting for a quote and confirmation regarding other parts to see if they will be covered under warranty or not — it’s been 15 days and I still haven’t received any answer.

Based on the recent reviews from other clients, it seems that our family is not the only one experiencing this burden. This year on April, our Family purchased a 3500 Ram Diesel for towing. 3 and a half months have passed and a loud knocking sound is starting to come from the engine. We immediately took it to the nearest chrysler and contacted Amherst for assistance on this matter. Not much assistance was provided. Another 3 Months have passed from it braking down, we just found that we have to replace the whole engine! Which would cost us $44 000 out of our own pocket. You would expect to receive a sense of comfort buying from a dealership, but we have had better experiences buying from private sellers. They do not even take the time to respond and resolve the negative reviews. I would not recommend this experience to anyone.

When I was looking for a new Ram, Amherst Chrysler had the exact one I wanted. I reached out to them and within 24 hours I had made a deal with Andrew Hurley. At first when I would text or call, he would answer the phone or my texts immediately. We had several conversations back and forth while we were negotiating. It was no problem getting in touch with him before they had my money. After I bought the truck, there were a few issues with the truck. Running boards wouldn't work, engine light was on, odometer was flashing, warning lights, check brake, service engine lights, cruise control not working, drive modes not working, etc. I wasn't mad, however I was extremely frustrated when Andrew stopped communicating with me. Right after I bought the truck and told Andrew about these issues, he did have someone pick up the truck and had someone look at it. However when it came back it started doing all of these this again. That was when Andrew stopped answering my calls and texts. I did send him a text saying "respectfully you were a lot easier to get in touch with when I was trying to buy the truck from you". It's now been 6 weeks since Andrew said he would "check with service" to see when he could have my truck looked at again.Still no reply and no return call. However based on all of the other unanswered texts and no return calls, I am not expecting any answer. I did go to another dealer and got the service there. I'm sure Andrew is a good salesman for the company, he's been there a while, however my experience with Andrew Hurley and Amherst Chrysler was not good. All I was expecting was to be taken care of by Andrew and the dealership after I bought the truck. I did not get that. After I paid for the truck I was dropped as their customer immediately. I've only had the truck three months.
