My wife and I visited Kingston this past Monday through Tuesday. We wanted to avoid weekend crowds, and we did so, successfully. We come from west of Syracuse, NY. We had a great time...walked around, shopped at the Kingston Olive Oil shop and looked into many other shops, as well as enjoyed a great dinner at PJ Murphy's Irish pub, and were among the first customers Tuesday to step into the gelato shop at 11am, leaving with some of the best gelato we've ever had. We also enjoyed the farmer"s market on the plaza, before we left for home. There was one young lady playing guitar on the market square, who had a lovely voice, and it made our day. The only thing we wished we had been able to experience more while visiting your charming town on a summer weekday or evening, were more street musicians! You have an unusually perfect environment to promote acoustic small folk bands and singers. We thought maybe we'd be able to hear more local talent. You must have musicians around Kingston and Wolfe Island, who'd love to get exposure and promote themselves on the market square and streets during the week days over good weather months! We look forward to returning to your town again in the near future, and we will bring friends. Sure would love to hear more street music on a weekday and evening though!!!
