I signed up with Animal Behavior College in the dog trainer program at the end of September. The process was quick and efficient. The steps were straight forward. It took about 5 days to get the email that got me started on the program, as expected. The curriculum is easily accessible and easy to follow. I have not had any technical issues and I'm about half way through already. I also added a short term program and am looking forward to that as well. If you're looking to pursue a career in a variety of animal jobs, this is a good place to start.

Jodee Kulp

I started my journey in positive dog training in 2005, learning my skills with Dog Scouts USA. In 2008, I completed my first Dog Obedience Level 1 training course with the Animal Behavior College (ABC) to deepen my focus on positive training for canines and other animal combination teams I encountered. ABC provided me with a solid foundation in efficient and practical training techniques. In 2017, I graduated from the Dog Obedience Level 2 training course and their Dog Massage short course, which I found highly valuable. Currently, I serve as an ABC mentor trainer in my local community. I enjoy helping young trainers acquire the skills and wisdom they need for successful experiences with canines and their human guardians. As of 2025, I am studying the ABC Service Dog Training Program. Even with 20 years of experience training thousands of dogs, I continue to learn and grow in this field. Thank you for contributing to making the animal training world a safer and kinder place for the future. I am also a Fear Free Elite and AKC Evaluator.

My experience with the program was great! I was able to build upon my already existing knowledge and experience and loved the self paced style of learning. For the externship portion I had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside my mentor trainer, who was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly flexible and local! Thanks to ABC, I have been able to help dogs and their owners build lasting relationships based on trust and understanding. Each day in my business is a new adventure, filled with the joy of witnessing positive transformations in both dogs and their families! I couldn’t have asked for a better foundation to launch my career in dog training, and I have been able to make a meaningful impact in my community!

I've learned so much from the dog grooming program, already. Some things have already carried over into my day to day life. I love being able to work at my own pace, and do the bookwork from home with my dogs... although they're getting tired of me practicing my anatomy lessons on them.
