Customer experiences
I recently visited Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant in Cary, NC for the first time, purely by accident. I happened to pass by, noticed the place was almost full, and decided to give it a try. The service immediately impressed me very attentive, friendly, and quick, easily a 5/5 experience. The menu was extensive, with plenty of gluten-free options, and the staff confirmed that all the meat is zabiha halal, which is a big plus. The only thing I’d caution about is the spice level. The dishes we tried were extremely spicy; even for me, someone from South Asia who’s used to heat. I’d recommend ordering medium spice so you can really enjoy the flavors without it overpowering the food. For starters, I tried the Paneer Tikka and Cheese Dosa, both of which were good and earned a solid 4/5. The highlight of the meal was the Delhi Kabob, which was outstanding and easily the best dish of the night—a full 5/5. The garlic naan was also good at 4/5, though it arrived after the BBQ dishes, which felt a little out of sync even I asked them to bring it with BBQ. For mains, I had the Prawn Masala and Chicken Makhani, both flavorful and worth a 4/5. Chicken Makhani was better, but chicken was bit thinly sliced. The only small downside was that the server didn’t offer a discount for the laee naan, which would have been a nice gesture and left a stronger final impression. Overall, I’d rate the service at 5/5 and the food at 4/5. If you’re in the mood for good Indian food in Cary, this place is definitely worth a try—just go for medium spice so you can savor it fully.
The food was excellent, and I highly recommend this restaurant. We ordered palak paneer, garlic naan, and goat curry, all of which were delicious. The quality of the food was outstanding, making this one of the best Indian restaurants in Raleigh.
