Update: went back again and definitely can’t recommend. Insane prices and floor personnel that try to pressure you into buying furniture. $2.50 for old scratched up records that aren’t even neatly stacked is so wrong. Have y’all ever set foot in a record store?! Because they sell good condition vinyl there for $1. Just saying! Old review: This place used to be the bomb, but now their prices are insane. Over $100 for a beat up couch? Over $100 for a non-vintage lamp without a shade that was probably from Marshall’s or TJ Max?!? Over $40 for an old piece of artwork that isn’t even in a nice frame? Feels like whoever is running this place now thinks that it’s ok to charge boutique prices for junk. Last time I really found anything interesting, I went up to pay and the white woman who appeared to be manager on duty ripped it out of my hands and said that someone had switched the price tag and that I’d have to pay $20 for it if I wanted it. (It was a set of old wooden coasters lol). Also, while I was looking through their VHS, some guy started talking to me out of nowhere, and when I told him I had a girlfriend he told me that it was, “a shame” that I was gay because it not he’d “take me home”…I was really creeped out. It’s a true shame… they used to have so much good stuff and the employees they had were so sweet, all the employees are rude (except for the black lady who runs the register, she’s super sweet), half the store is empty and their prices are stupid high. Wish they’d go back to the way things were.
Used to be much better. In the past year or so, the organization of the books has disappeared, and prices are pretty steep for certain things. $7 for a glass dish? $30+ for much of the art frames? Better luck at other thrifts nearby, or just try the Goodwill bins down the street.
I have shopped here many times. The sales money go's to a good cause and I have found a number of really good bargains in this thrift store. It is very easy to find. I am sitting outside for this post. Today I am looking for picture frames but will probably buy several other things.
I visited this store yesterday with my two kids and found several items I intended to purchase until my 3-year-old urgently needed to go to the restroom. I asked a nearby employee if they had a restroom he could use. He said, "Absolutely!" and led us toward the bathroom. As we passed through a curtain labeled "Employees Only," I realized there was no public restroom. Immediately, a woman sitting at a table, eating and watching TV, stopped the employee and scolded him, saying, "We don't have public restrooms!" While I understand this could have been frustrating for her, I hadn’t realized there were no public restrooms and appreciated the employee's kindness. Despite her scolding, he insisted we could still use the restroom. I then told her, "We will go." She stood up, ensuring we understood her annoyance, and pointed us to the restroom, saying, "It's over there. Hurry up!" Once we finished, the male employee apologized for her behavior and returned our cart of items to us. After that interaction, with what seemed to be a manager, we left our cart and chose to shop at the thrift store across the street instead. It’s disappointing to have had such an experience over a simple need for a child, especially in a Christian-based establishment. Needless to say I will not be shopping here in the future.
