Summary This group is not suitable for overseas pilgrims as they are unprofessional, with only one person running the show without proper leadership or planning. Appointed group representatives did not manage anything and always redirected inquiries to the same person. Hotel arrangements were not timely, and there was no guidance on when to go to Jamarat to avoid crowds or any drop-off near Mina camp. The group is only suitable for providing accommodation in a cheaper package, but for more guidance, it is better to try another group. If spending more than $8,000, it is recommended to pay extra for better service from other groups, as you are going to end up paying extra anyways for taxis. Besides the Hajj journey, you have to constantly push the agent to get service. They do not reply much on WhatsApp and do not provide accurate timings. The point person during Hajj was not willing to answer questions, and their Houston contact was also not professional and often got angry while answering questions. Detailed Review Rating: 2 stars I recently completed my Hajj journey in 2024 with Aroma Travel Agency, and I want to share my experience. Positive Aspects: • Accommodation Near Haram: The stay provided by Aroma near Haram was comfortable and satisfactory, enhancing our spiritual experience. Areas for Improvement: 1. Communication: The trip lacked a structured plan, particularly concerning shuttle and bus timings. There was no advance information about the crowd conditions near Jamarat Mina and pathways in Mina. It was inconvenient to always have to visit the lobby to find information. 2. Azizia Hotel: The overall experience at Azizia was ordinary. The food menu was mostly repetitive, and there were instances of old biryani being served at dinner. There was also one dinner delay, which affected our schedule. 3. Shuttle Service: The shuttle service was not well-organized. There seemed to be no group plan, and all inquiries had to be directed to one individual, Shakeel. Other representatives were not able to provide information and always redirected us to him, making it a one-man show and causing delays in getting necessary information. 4. Mina: • Maktab A: Maktab 2 A class was more crowded compared to the previous year, with 35 people in one room and some rooms having 45. Private washrooms were provided but lacked maintenance, such as cleaning and adequate water supply. Customer service from Aroma was lacking. • Food: Long lines in different canteens, which is partly a Saudi government issue (maulim). Aroma did not assist elderly people in bringing food to the tent. No management or communication about which canteen to use to avoid crowds. • Transportation to Mina: Aroma did not have passes to drop people over the bridge. No guidance or group walk to Mina until the second day. No information about which paths were open or the best times to go to Mina. People coming from Haram were not offered any guidance or shuttle service to go to Jamarat or Aziziya, resulting in many hours of walking in the heat. • Shuttle Service to Haram: Started without any communication about the schedule. No group travel to Haram, no leadership or guidance on where to find taxis if pathways were closed. • Second Day in Mina: Aroma attempted to take people to Mina, but pathways were closed, resulting in a 4-hour return trip. Other groups had better organization, with passes for bridge drops, inside people guiding which paths were open, and arranging groups for travel to Jamarat or Mina. Some other travel groups provided shuttles to Kudai bus station. 5. Transportation to and from the Airport: Overseas pilgrims had to pay for taxis and handle everything themselves. Additional Issues: • The point person during Hajj was not willing to answer questions. • The Houston contact was also not professional and often got angry while answering questions. I hope these observations help in improving the services for future Hajj pilgrims. Thank you for your efforts in facilitating our pilgrimage.
