I've been pleased with the results I've seen on those I've known going into surgery and from the emergency room; but I'm lacking the expertise and sample size to say much more there. As a visitor, the staff was never anything but helpful towards me. One of the best staff tips I received was to look at every information sign, when trying to navigate to a specific hospital location for the first time.

I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. Nursing staff is a joke. They did a horrible job of taking care of my mother. Left her sitting in pee for over 3 hours 1 night of her visit. Another time looked like nurses had not even went in her room. Trays laying everywhere from the whole day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room was disgusting. Trash cans were all full. A few times nurses could not give me a update, they said they didn't have a update. Which I knew better. When you push your call light for nurses or staff, (tech), it took over 30 to 45 mins for them to even respond. Overall just very disappointed.

I was in the ER for around 7+ hrs. No biggie I know I wasn't a priority patient. Then was admitted and was going to get rehydrated due to a diagnosis of colitis. Made it to the fourth floor where everything came to a screeching halt. No team of doctors were ever available. The next morning I had an accident on the floor in the bathroom, urine. This was around 06:30. I hit call light and told the staff and was acknowledged. At around 07:30 I called again and was told ok. Then I had to use the bathroom and placed a bunch of paper towels on the floor. I called again and was chastised and told the cleaning folks were coming but it takes more than a second! This was around 09:30. I told them it's been more than a second. Then my one doctors visit arrived around 10:30. I apologize to her for the smell of urine and she, of course, didn't know what I've been through so far. She said that's ok she was used to it. I told I wasn't and filled her in. Finally got it cleaned up after around six hours. Nothing ever got any better. Got no team of doctors that I was told for two days. I left and told one of the nurses to mail my discharge paperwork. She said ok and what room. My wife came in and was very upset with me because I signed out AMA. I didn't sign anything and you have to have medical advice to leave against. Anyway was finally released that afternoon. Except for the diagnosis it was one over the worst experiences. I have bragged on St. Vincent in the past and also in the past there is no doubt the doctors and nurses have saved my life. That's why we drove an hour and a half. I didn't even put all down, just a quick summary. Have a good day

That was the dirtiest hospital I have ever seen! I complained to supervisor and she didn't even apologize or even speak to me, acted anoyed i said anything about it. Now this was also a med/surg floor. So should have been very clean.Very few nurses could speak fluent English. Techs wouldn't help with patient care, took hrs to get call lights answered. I would never send anyone there. When we were getting discharged, the discharge planner didn't plan anything sent suppliea for me to do at home. Didn't set up home care, or get supplies I actually needed. If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would.
