Heed my advice, avoid ACU at all costs. I've been trying to reach a live person there for 4 business days with no success. I've left several messages & yesterday I decided to try a different tactic. I waited on the line listening to repetitive messages that I could leave a message. 33 minutes later my call is answered but when I requested a transfer to a specific individual, I was told the person I was currently speaking to would help me. After he heard my issue he realized that he couldn't help me but would transfer me to someone that could, the same number I've called for days 😡 Access Credit Union in Grunthal is far more efficient and they actually know your name

I called my banker and said I needed a loan for a new furnace. Its almost winter and mine is dead. I got the 3rd degree of questions and They asked me if I could still afford my house! I told them my payments are always made on time and what kind of question is that! They said that basically they would rather my pipes freeze and they take my house than give me a loan for a furnace! I have a little under a year left on my mortgage and will never deal with them again! This is how they treat clients. I have always had terrible service from them! Stay as far away from Assiniboine as possible!

I have been with Assiniboine for 14 years and normally don't have issues with any of the branches I go to. I had gone in today to deposit 2 cheques in which I have deposited before in the past. The teller was investigating my account to see if the cheque form this company was deposited before. I asked if there was an issue in regards to these cheques. He said he couldn't find the company that issued the cheque on my account and that he would need to put it on a hold. I told him that it shouldn't be on a hold as I've deposited from this company in the past. He went on and spoke to his supervisor, who also went into my account to investigate. 10-15 minutes later, she had come and apologized for the wait and approved the deposit with no hold. The teller had asked if I would like any cash back and I said no, as I don't normally like to carry cash with me. I went to make a transaction as that is the reason why I went to make the deposit in the first place, to find out that my card had declined. I called ACU over the phone to find out if they did in fact put a hold on the cheque anyway. Turns out they did, and the branch was closed so the rep was unable to lift the hold and that I would have to contact them in the morning. Extremely disappointed with the service from this branch and will avoid them in the future.

I went to the St. James branch to withdraw 5k from my account I was questioned what the money was for and when I told them it was none of their business I was treated rudely by the staff, they told me I could withdraw only 3k. Because of their poor customer service I missed out on a great opportunity. I was vey upset and questioned their policy and they threatened to call the police. I have been a customer for 45 years and have never been treated this poorly. I will be in contact with my lawyer.
