My car was booked in for a diagnostic test to detect a sat nav problem. The cost of the diagnostic was over £180-four times the price at my local garage. The quote for the actual repair was £170 I was then told my front suspension was in a dangerous condition and under no circumstances should the car be driven away until repairs were done. I was informed the repairs could be done there and then. The cost would be a further £900. Within no time a variety of payment plans were put in front of me awaiting my speedy signature. I felt as though I was being exploited with a ‘gun’ at my head. My car had only three weeks previously been serviced and passed its MOT with no failures . I had driven six hundred miles since the MOT and service with no problems.This made me suspicious of the diagnosis I was given. I rejected the diagnosis and took it to my local garage for a ‘second opinion’ . They said there were no problems with the suspension. I felt as a result of their judgement I had in fact been unfairly exploited by Mercedes and made to feel very uncomfortable. This is my first encounter with a Mercedes dealership and not one I wish to repeat. The sat nav problem remains until I find a suitable non-Mercedes garage I can trust to do the work honestly and fairly.
