I used this company many times years ago and It was such a disaster on every occasion I tried to delete the whole experience from memory. They are unbelievably incompetent, take way too long to carry out work given to them and when it's complete there is always a problem with the work carried out. I had a van engine which had been ran out of oil several times by the previous owner thus knocking the bottom end out. The crank was so badly worn it had massive end float destroying the block. Bristol autocare carried out a full engine rebuild and as soon as I refitted the engine there was a problem. It was pouring oil out of the cam seal, upon further investigation the cam caps were so worn the cam was moving around in its housing. So the head/cam was scrap aswell. Completely unnoticed when they rebuilt the head. So the engine had to come out again as it was easier to remove the head with the engine out of the van. After this disaster when the engine was refitted it broke down and was off the road for atleast 6 months trying to work out why it wouldn't start. After all this time, me giving up and buying another car I discovered that one of the oil jets underneath the pistons had come out and smashed the crank sensor pickup on the end of the crank so no crank signal - no start. So the engine had to come out again as the crank sensor pickup has to be replaced with the crank out of the engine. Bristol autocare replaced the one oil jet and crank sensor pickup after I removed the engine, I did ask at the time would it be a good idea to replace all 4? They said to leave them alone as they are still intact. You can guess what happens next can't you. After a month or so the van broke down again with the remaining oil jets falling out and doing the same thing all over again. So the engine had to come out again. This time all 4 oil jets along with another crank sensor pickup. So after removing and refitting the engine a total of 4 times it was a lovely running engine, it still had oil leaks from every orific which it didn't matter how many times or how many genuine seals or gaskets were replaced it still leaked so I just gave up on it and sold the van. I later found out the oil jets were the originals swapped out from the original block, 4 oil jets and the crank sensor pickup were £20 from Vauxhall. The jets are interference fit, not bolted. How idiotic can you be to take them out of the original block and tap them into the replacement when they are a couple of quid from the main dealer. At no point throughout this entire knightmare was I given any help or any financial reimbursement or even an apology for clearly a very poorly built engine. There are multiple other experiences I could list here that I've had with this company but I think the picture is clear. So to anyone reading this don't bother using this company. You're better off taking a chance with a secondhand engine than letting these bunch of clowns loose on an engine.
