Avenue House Surgery

Last year, I had a successful gall bladder removal. The nurses, radiographer and doctors were all wonderful. They were cheerful, positive and encouraging. After a computer problem, they agreed for my husband to come in outside visiting hours to check on me after the operation. I have minimal scars and a greatly improved quality of life. My only complaint is that I had to wait for 18 months to get an appointment for the op. This is no fault of the medical staff and must be laid at the feet of management.

Wow if I went private I could not get better treatment for my fracture from A and E to X-Ray and suite 1 orthopaedics . You were all class . Thanks so much for being amazing people and making my accident an amazing time at the royal.

Whilst having a heart attack and waiting to be transferred to Sheffield. I found the whole process and experience very harrowing. The staff, and especially the ambulance drivers, were very insensitive. I was lying on the bed in A&E and thinking I was in my final moments. It was like I didn't exist to them. No interactions with me at all. Not once was they able to provide any reassurance. They were more interested in telling each other where they were going on holiday or making sarcastic comments to my girlfriend, who was beside herself. One of the female ambulance drivers was extremely rude and obnoxious. What a relief it was when I reached Sheffield. The staff were much more helpful and caring.
