Matthias is exceptionally skilled at working with an unpredictable client experiencing dementia. He is patient, provides clear, simple instructions and assistance, and is extremely encouraging even when she is finding the activities too stressful. He has taught me more effective ways to support and enhance her mobility. Although she can't remember exactly who he is, she knows he is helping her get stronger at walking and going up and down steps. Matthias's sessions are so important to her that she is willing to practice those challenging skills with me so that we are ready for his next visit.
