Customer experiences
Great location, but only medium coffee. This shop could be so much more! Friendly team, but chairs & table design without stringent concept and love to detail. Foam is poor, coffee medium, Barista should be trained as machine is good.
Balzac’s Coffee in the Old Toronto Distillery District is a must-see gem! The café has a unique urban factory spirit with beautifully restored architecture that perfectly fits the historic charm of the area. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, with fast service and very warm, smiling staff who make you feel welcome right away. Easily reachable by TTC bus and tramway, it’s the perfect stop for a relaxing coffee break while exploring the district. Plus, there are multiple art galleries right on the same spot, making it an ideal place to combine great coffee or lunch with a cultural visit. Highly recommend this spot for both the great drinks and the authentic vibe!
This cafe is located at Distillery district in an old building. It is always crowded. Nice to have a seat on the second floor to have a break during the afternoon. Nice shops around the district that it is worth spending an afternoon here. I love the nostalgia old walls of the building.
I ordered a maple latte and an iced Americano. The latte had a nice nutty flavor and was just the right amount of sweet — just like cafe in Korea! I heard this place is usually crowded and hard to get a table, but it wasn’t the case that day. If you’re planning to visit around lunchtime, I’d recommend going early to beat the crowd.
