Customer experiences
Great experience with B & W Garage Door Specialists. The technician, Jesse, was professional and efficient. Analyzed the problem immediately and began the repair. Thoroughly enjoyed our conversation as he went about his work. He is a great ambassador for B & W.
I don't usually write reviews for anything, even if it's a bad job, but I definitely need to write a review for my recent experience with this company. I called on April 14, 2025 for an garage door system installation and I was able to get service for April 15, 2025. The technician had a pretty flexible schedule which was great and we were able to find a time for installation. I had to leave for an appointment, so once the technician was done, he informed my husband on instructions on how to calibrate the system since we didn't have an extension cord for him to check the system. My husband paid for the service thinking everything was done the way it needs to and we just needed to plug it in and calibrate it. We did everything, calibrated the system, it all worked: great. But we started to notice the garage system motor was beginning to loosen on the wall, and noticed the bolts were not in properly. You can literally pull and push the bolts in and out. and the bolts on the actual rod was also loose too. Then we noticed that the button was not working to open the system. I connected the system to the app, and we were able to open the garage through the app, but the app informed us there was a short in the wire. I texted the technician pictures and informed us of what was going on. He didn't get back to me until I called the company informing them what was going on and that's when he called me back. When I talked to the technician he said that he can come bolt the system back, but connecting the remote opener is not his fault and would be an additional cost. I asked if he can just come check and he said he won't be able to come today (April 16) and he will come tomorrow. I informed them I would need it done by today because we have an electric car and do need our car for work, picking up our kids, etc. In order to do all that, we do need to plug in the car in the garage. I asked if there was another technician that can help us today, and he said they will not help without payment. Keep in mind, we already paid nearly $300 for the service. Called the company again hoping they have another technician who can help us today, and they informed me that their technician did nothing wrong, he did his job by installing the system, etc and if the system is not working, I have to talk to the place where I purchased the system (I bought a Chamberlain RJO101 from Home Depot). Apparently, since I didn't buy a system through them, they are only responsible for installing not double checking their work. They were quite hostile towards me and kept informing me that if there's a problem with the system it's not the technician's fault, it's the product itself. Fair, and I informed her that the system is working perfectly fine, but the door opener remote is not connected/cannot open the garage door, and the actual motor is not bolted onto the wall and is about to fall off. Investing in a product and it falling off due to improper installation is not something anyone wants, especially when the service to install was fully paid and not that cheap. We were willing to pay the price for specialists to install the system, but we didn't even get that. Also, the same day service is a huge selling point, but that service also was not available. I messaged the technician the night before, once we did everything we were told to do. They got back to me at 2pm the next day. Honestly, we would've been understanding if they were genuine with wanting to help and make sure the work was done properly. It felt like a money grab and that quality work is not necessary. UPDATE: my husband ended up talking with the technician on April 16 and had agreed the technician would come in to see the problem on April 17 between 9am-11am, BEFORE the owner of the company saw my review. The morning of April 17, the company called me regarding the appointment. They said that the owner saw my review and would tell the technician to come in check ONLY IF I take down the review. They said they would cancel the appointment if I don’t take it down.
We just had our garage door fixed by one of the technicians, he did an amazing job. VERY informative, he was very efficient, thorough and completed the job in great time. I do recommend B&W Garage door specialists.
After one of my overhead door springs snapped on Sunday evening, B&W was my first, and only call on Monday morning. Gal arrived same day and in the window he promised, and quickly replaced my broken springs. He was efficient, effective, knowledgable and professional, and less than 24 hours after the incident I was back in business! Thank you Gal and B&W!!
