I had an extremely disappointing and unpleasant experience at Bayleave Salon, and I feel compelled to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. A month ago, I got acrylic nails done at this salon. Naturally, as my nails grew, I expected the acrylics to grow with them. However, instead of staying intact while growing, they started lifting like press-on nails, which is not normal for acrylics. This caused constant disruption in my daily life—my hair would get caught in the gaps when washing, and simple tasks like picking out clothes would result in my nails bending painfully. The issue was not with one or two nails, but all of them. The pain was so severe that I had to put bandages on two fingers where the acrylics had lifted completely. When I went back to the salon and explained this to the manager, Priya, they agreed to remove the nails but insisted I pay ₹500 for removal. I requested some form of compensation, as this was clearly a service issue, and she reduced the charge to ₹400. I didn’t argue further, even though I felt this was unfair. The removal process was excruciatingly painful. One nail had lifted but was still glued to my skin, and instead of acknowledging a possible mistake in application, the nail technician blamed me—suggesting that I must have jerked my hand or that my workouts had caused this. This was completely untrue, as I am always extra cautious with fake nails. I still have part of that acrylic nail attached to my natural nail and skin, and I have to wait for it to completely grow and fall off. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of empathy. At no point did Priya or the technician acknowledge my pain, let alone apologize for the poor quality of work. Instead, they continuously shifted the blame onto me. Even when I tried to politely express my dissatisfaction, Priya repeatedly cut me off, refusing to even let me speak. The manager made no effort to fully understand the issue. Instead of addressing my concerns, she kept insisting that I should have returned within 10 days of getting my nails done, completely disregarding the actual problem. In the end, I paid the ₹400, and Priya casually said, “We won’t let it happen next time.” Unfortunately, there won’t be a next time because I would never return. My nails are still paining, and looks like it’ll be a while till they heal. A salon should not only provide quality service but also take responsibility when things go wrong. Blaming the client, disregarding their pain, and offering zero accountability is simply unacceptable. I would not recommend Bayleave Salon to anyone looking for a professional and client-focused experience.
