Quoted $400k for major renos on 2 floors in Jan 2025. I had a really good feeling about Matt in the beginning, very knowledgeable and sounded like him and his team would do a great job. We started the design phase in Feb with Innovate, Matt's recommended designer (and supposedly someone he would work closely with so that nothing was overlooked and we stayed within budget). Within 2 weeks on the FIRST design, I noticed that they got rid of the utility room. I mentioned this via email and they didn't seem to care, so I dropped it. $10,000 later, they realized that the utility room was missing...so design is basically useless because of oversights and we would need to redo. Even the designer said "Matt should have caught this" on a zoom call. They did say they could still do the design/reno "within budget", but honestly I was a bit peeved we had paid for design time on something we couldn't use. I honored the invoices because I was hoping at some point, their customer service would kick in and they would realize that we shouldn't have paid for design time on something they messed up. They never did and within 2 weeks came back with a quote for $360k for half the scope, at that point I decided to just cut my losses and walk away. I think Matt and his teams could be great, but seriously needs to work on communication, customer service, and understanding when he has wronged the client. At this time, I cannot recommend this contractor.

Matt and team are amazing. They completed a significant reno on our previous home and upon our move to a new place they were the first call I made. The entire team is skilled and provides incredible customer service. The commitment to getting the job done right is the highest priority. I have complete trust in Matt and team.

It's hard to know where to begin in thanking BC Home Builders for the wonderful job they did on my kitchen reno. From the first meeting with Matt, I knew I was in good hands. Then the team I saw every day, Jordan, Steve, Arlo, always on time, so patient with any qestions I had, the sight always left clean and tidy and any issues that would crop up, there was always a solution which never broke the bank. Not to mention the other trades that also had to be scheduled, ( Abstract Stone, Pacific Coast Electric, Phil Ballam Plumbing) it's a real dance. So if you need work done contact BC Home Builders, you will not regret it.
