I originally switched from Thrive Oak Lawn to Prairie State Vet in Orland due to ease of scheduling, availability and flexibility —and I am so happy I did! Here is my honest review: very professional, efficient and kind staff from the moment you speak to someone on the phone, to checking out. They are very good at answering questions and if there is an unknown they try their best to accommodate your needs and concerns; I can expect to get a call back by the end of the day or in 24 hours. Never left me hanging. The facility is clean and well kept. There is also a spacious waiting area with a treats bar for your fur babies. There is a sign that asks people to be courteous if someone is saying goodbye to their fur baby (it’s the attention to detail I love). My dog Max, (7 year old beagle with a lot of vet fear) has been getting used to the staff. They treat your pup with kindness and respect. You can tell the people that work here love animals and try to make your fur baby feel safe. They provide us with all the materials needed to ensure a smooth healing process. For example, my dog needed a bigger cone because he kept getting to the wound so they upgraded him to this soft donut cone he’s wearing in the picture. They ask if you are good on anything else you may need. Instructions are well communicated. I have been seeing Dr.Treat ☺️ for various random issues Max has been surprising me with this year. Dr. Treat is very warm, professional and knowledgable. You won’t feel rushed by her. The vet assistants are always helpful, patient, and hands-on when needed. My last visit was with Amanda helping Dr. Treat and they did amazing! Thank you again for answering all our questions about Max! ❤️❤️❤️

My wife and I take our three dogs to Prairie State Veterinary Clinic. We have two GSPs and a French Bulldog. All we can say is that it is an absolute pleasure working with Dr. Treat, Bailey, and Tiarris. They are all extremely knowledgeable, easy to work with, and do a fantastic job of explaining things and providing options. They always have smiles on their faces, are very welcoming, and are happy to see our dogs. We appreciate their hard work and attentiveness to us and our dogs. Highly recommend.

I’ve been bringing my cat, Snowball, to Prairie State since I adopted her in 2023. And have had nothing but good experiences! We typically see Dr. Treat and she is very thorough with her explanations. Snowball is an anxious cat and on some medicine to help calm her every time we come for a visit, but sometimes her anxiety is still heightened. Dr. Treat and the vet techs are always patient and take their time to calm Snowball down and still provide the care she needs despite acting out at times. Heather has been our vet tech the last few visits and she’s been excellent at helping keep Snowball calm. I subscribe to the Thrive Plus program and look to it almost like pet insurance. I get her nails trimmed once a month (I can’t do it alone at home) and that alone makes the monthly cost + $5 worth it for me. The discounts on exams, procedures, and medication are added bonuses.

Walking into the clinic felt like home. We were welcomed by an amazing front desk staff that got us checked in quickly and kept us updated on any delays. Paula was great and made sure our kids enjoyed the wait by showing them around and taking them to see the clinic animal staff! Dr Treat was so kind and you could tell she cares deeply about her patients! Our cat has been struggling and sick and she showed him great care and talked us through everything she did and was thinking! Even called from home when his bloodwork came back to go over it all with me and put us at ease! Our tech, Ashley, was incredible! Truly magical at her job! She was so gentle with our kitty while getting blood, giving fluids, and all the additional little things she did. She made us laugh and reassured the kids that their kitty was strong and doing great! She even found donated things and samples for us to bring home to help! Dr Tassone has been following up and helping so much in next steps to help our buddy feel better! She’s amazing! Every day she’s checking in with ideas and creating the perfect plan! She truly has the most caring heart and passion for animals and their owners! We are so thankful for the entire Prairie State team! They are all the best around!
